Taking place on April 5th-9th at Reveille Peak Ranch in the Texas Hill Country, a short drive from San Antonio and neighboring Austin, this cosmic event will feature the awe-inspiring spectacle of a total solar eclipse, with over 4 minutes and 20 seconds of totality. The Texas Eclipse is the last chance to see a total solar eclipse in the U.S.

The Leah Ryan Fund has announced the winner of the 2023 Leah Prize, Gloria Majule's Culture Shock.  Majule's new play concerns two African students, Zahra from Tanzania and Hawi from Kenya, who start school in an Ivy League institution.

The Assembly Theater (HOME/SICK) in association with Dutch Kills Theater (The Antelope Party) will present the World Premiere of IN CORPO, a new musical by Ben Beckley and Nate Weida with music by Nate Weida.

Goodspeed Musicals has announced the cast for the world premiere musical comedy Summer Stock, the second production of its 60th anniversary season. Filled with exuberant dance numbers and hits from the American songbook, it is adapted from the MGM/Warner Bros. film Summer Stock and will appear on the Goodspeed stage from July 7 – August 27 in East Haddam, Connecticut.

Bernarda's Daughters celebrates Haitian Flag Day with a post-show panel and reception following the 7:30pm performance on Thursday, May 18, when The New Group and National Black Theatre host “Tout Moun Se Moun,” a panel featuring Haitian-American artists and cultural workers in discussion about the presence of Haitian art and culture in New York City and elsewhere in the diaspora.

The New Group and National Black Theatre have released production photos of the world premiere of Bernarda's Daughters, by Diane Exavier, directed by Dominique Rider, featuring Pascale Armand, Alana Raquel Bowers, Kristin Dodson, Malika Samuel, Taji Senior and Tamara Tunie.

Rivendell Theatre Ensemble is adding performances to the sold-out world premiere run of Motherhouse by RTE Ensemble member Tuckie White, directed by Azar Kazemi. 

MCC Theater, in collaboration with The Sol Project, and INTAR Theatre will celebrate their productions this spring with a special street event on Saturday May 13, beginning at 1PM and running until 6PM in front of MCC Theater.

Cleveland Play House will bring its 2022-2023 season to a close with the world premiere production of Ken Ludwig's Moriarty: A New Sherlock Holmes Adventure. Running April 29 through May 21 in the Allen Theatre at Playhouse Square.

The 2023 Lucille Lortel Awards for Outstanding Achievement Off-Broadway were handed out this evening to recipients in 15 categories, with four honorary awards also bestowed. The Awards were distributed in a ceremony at NYU Skirball hosted by stars of stage and screen: Kevin Cahoon (Tony nominee, 'Shucked'), D'Arcy Carden ('The Thanksgiving Play'), Crystal Lucas-Perry (Tony nominee, 'Ain't No Mo''), Bonnie Milligan (Tony nominee, 'Kimberly Akimbo'), Arian Moayed (Tony nominee, 'A Doll's House'), and Tamara Tunie (The New Group's 'Bernarda's Daughters'). The Lucille Lortel Awards are produced by the Off-Broadway League and Lucille Lortel Theatre, with additional support provided by TDF.

NAATCO will begin performances for the Off-Broadway premiere of Hansol Jung’s modern verse translation of Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet, the classic tale of star-crossed lovers.  Jung will co-direct Romeo and Juliet with Dustin Wills.
