The New Group is currently presenting Clueless, The Musical by Amy Heckerling in a world premiere production with choreography by Kelly Devine, directed by Kristin Hanggi. Performances began November 20 in advance of an Official Opening Night on Tuesday, December 11. A limited Off-Broadway engagement is slated through January 12 at The Pershing Square Signature Center (The Alice Griffin Jewel Box Theatre, 480 West 42nd Street).

The Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts is excited to announce three new Jazz Residency teams for the 2018-19 season: David Allen, Raquel Salas Rivera, and Diane Monroe; Dan Blacksberg with Yosef Goldman; and Dariel Peniazek., Maya Peniazek, and Ariacne Trujillo. Collaborating with the Kimmel Center throughout winter and spring, each team will work to create a new project that is relevant and engaging to the Philadelphia community. In the residency's sixth consecutive year, all three of these new works will focus on how the United States is coming to terms with the question of identity and these artists' struggles to define belonging.

If you and your children were captivated by 'Frozen,' you will be equally enchanted by THE SNOW QUEEN, the upcoming play by The Theatre School @ North Coast Rep. Adapted from the beloved Hans Christian Andersen fairy tale by Ron Nicol, this nonmusical production tells the story of Gerda, a little girl who bravely searches for her friend Kai when he is bewitched and imprisoned by the Snow Queen in her ice palace. Gerda's innocence charms all good people and animals she meets on the way. They help her to the royal court, and on to Lapland, where good conquers evil and the children are reunited. A prominent theme portrays how each new group Gerda encounters seeks to prolong their new friendships.

Will Roland (Broadway's 'Dear Evan Hansen') will head a cast of four in an innovative reading of 'Love Letters' by A.R. Gurney on December 9 at Feinstein's/54 Below.  The reading is organized by Getting Together for Good, a charitable giving circle, to benefit the Ric Swezey Memorial Library, a program of The Family Equality Council, which supports and protects LGBTQ families through education, advocacy, and legal initiatives.

BroadwayWorld is thrilled to introduce you to a new performing group out of York, PA. The Trick 'R Treaters specialize in shows that fall into the genres of fantasy, sci fi, horror, and gothic. Their inaugural performance was Friday, November 16th at the Wyndham Garden, York. I had a chance to talk with Jessica Crowe, who is the founder, one of the directors for the evening, and the owner of Alba Rosa Cat Parlour, which sponsors the Trick 'R Treaters. Barrington Stage Company (BSC), the award-winning theatre in Downtown Pittsfield, MA, under the leadership of Artistic Director Julianne Boyd, will host its annual New York City Benefit, BSC/NYC, on Tuesday, November 27, 2018, to honor director and BSC Associate Artist John Rando with the William Finn Award for Innovation and Excellence in Musical Theatre. This one-night only cabaret will take place at the Friars Club (57 East 55th Street).

The League of Professional Theatre Women (Kelli Lynn Harrison & Catherine Porter, Co-Presidents) has published the fourth in a series of reports authored by Martha Wade Steketee with Judy Binus, on the status of women employed in New York City theaters. The fourth report, Women Count: Women Hired Off Broadway, available at theatrewomen.org/women-count/, analyzes employment in 13 professional roles - playwrights, directors, designers, stage managers, and others - in 515 Off- and Off-Off-Broadway productions by 22 theater companies for 5 complete seasons, 2013-14 through 2017-18 to show where women are and are not being hired. 

The wildly successful sitcom 'BUNK'D' has been ordered for a fourth season by Disney Channel. Production will begin in March 2019 on the series starring fan-favorite Miranda May as Lou Hockhauser, the cheerful Woodchuck counselor turned owner of Maine's rustic Camp Kikiwaka summer camp. The series also stars Mallory James Mahoney (Disney Channel's 'Adventures in Babysitting'), Raphael Alejandro (ABC's 'Once Upon a Time') and Will Buie Jr. ('Gifted) as the campers who return with Lou to create a summer of fun and friendship for a new group of young campers. Additional casting is to be announced.
