The Juilliard School pulled out all the stops for Stephen Wadsworth's production of HIPPOLYTE ET ARICIE (1733) by Jean-Philippe Rameau this week. Gorgeously designed by Charlie Corcoran with marvelous costumes by Sarah Cubbage, Juilliard has the resources to do it right, with professional level performers from their Historical Performance, Marcus Institute for Vocal Arts and Dance departments plus the Juilliard415 early music ensemble under Stephen Stubbs.

Skora Productions in association with the Whitefire Theatre opened its world premiere comedy DAMAGED FURNITURE written by Howard Skora, directed by Jim Fall on Saturday, March 24, 2018. The play runs Saturday evenings at 8:00 pm, now through May 26, at the Whitefire Theatre in Sherman Oaks.

Actor Alex Skuby, Husband to Mo Collins, Adds His Two Cents Regarding DAMAGED FURNITURE

Actor Alex Skuby was born in Neptune, New Jersey. He moved to Chicago in 1992 and was cast in various plays with several different theater companies. In 1998 Alex moved to LA and has been in television series, films and voice-overs. Some of his credits: 'Santa Clarita Diet,' 'Bones,' 'Last Man Standing.' 'CSI,' CBS's hit sitcom 'The King of Queens' (5 seasons recurring as 'Mr. Pruzan'), recently recurring on Freeform's drama series 'The Fosters' as Detective Joe Gray. We caught up with him in rehearsal for the new play Damaged Furniture opening Saturday March 24 and running Saturdays only at the Whitefire Theatre.

Verdi's Luisa Miller returns to the Met for the first time since 2006, starring Sonya Yoncheva as the title character and Piotr Beczala as her lover, Rodolfo.Placido Domingo adds a new role to his Met repertory as Miller, Luisa's father, a role he shares with Luca Salsi. Olesya Petrova sings the widowed duchess Federica, Alexander Vinogradov is the lord Walter, and Dmitry Belosselskiy sings the role of Wurm. Bertrand de Billy conducts all performances of the revival which runs for 7 performances from March 29 through April 21, 2018.

Multi-platinum alt-pop sibling trio Echosmith have released a brand new single, 'Over My Head,' out today on Warner Bros. Records. As the first release since they returned to the studio late last year, the new song showcases the band's most evolved sound to date, with an inescapable synth-driven chorus and bold drum beats. It is the first taste of their next album which will be released this summer. The track is accompanied by a latte art-inspired lyric video, which was created with renowned latte artist Melannie Aquino and Lavazza, depicting the words of the song in whimsical foam and espresso designs.

On May 4, Belly return with DOVE, their first full length album release in 23 years. The album was produced and recorded by band member Tom Gorman alongside longtime friend of the group Paul Q. Kolderie (Hole, Throwing Muses, Radiohead). Today, the band shared the official video for 'Shiny One,' the first single to be released from the forthcoming album.
