Liz Cooper & The Stampede's New Album WINDOW FLOWERS Now Streaming at NPR Music, Out 8/10
by Tori Hartshorn - Aug 2, 2018

Liz Cooper & The Stampede's anticipated debut full-length album, Window Flowers, is now streaming as part of NPR Music's “First Listen” series. Listen here. Of the album, NPR Music calls it, “…a gorgeously arranged and performed bouquet of psychedelia-tinged folk-rock,” furthering, “…to draw a line from Window Flowers to any period of rock and roll, it would be that of the Paisley Underground and bands like The Dream Syndicate, where beautiful and languid psychedelia met moody folk and rock based songs. Cooper taps into this and more on her debut, wrapping her reverbed vocals in swirling, warm echoes of sound and nuanced musical lushness thanks to the addition of keyboards, pedal steel, a glockenspiel here and a banjo there.”

Soccer Mommy - twenty-one old Nashville native Sophie Allison – released her debut albumClean earlier this year to critical acclaim, and today she shares the music video for fan-favorite “Scorpio Rising.” “I wanted the video for 'Scorpio Rising' to be a bit celestial,” explains Allison of the Jonny Look-directed video. “The whole idea of laying out in a park in the middle of the summer while looking at the stars holds a significance to me, so I wanted to capture that feeling. I think there's also a sense of isolation shown in the video that reflects both the song and the headspace I was in while writing Clean.”

"Part of my work has been thinking of how to make a solo show good," he says, smiling lightly. "I know a lot of poets who create solo shows and it's literally just a string of their poems connected. It's not theatricalized, it's just spoken word for a longer, extended amount of time. That's not what I wanted to do. I wanted to create an actual play first."
