Allen Stone Releases New Single TASTE OF YOU Featuring Jamie Lidell

Washington state R&B/soul singer-songwriter Allen Stone has released his third single of 2018, “Taste Of You” feat. Jamie Lidell, today via ATO Records. A two-month fall tour of North American kicked off last week, arriving in Los Angeles for two shows, tonight and tomorrow, at the Fonda Theatre (all dates below).

Old 97's Share First Song From Upcoming Holiday Record

Old 97's have released the title track from their soon-to-be-released holiday album, LOVE THE HOLIDAYS. It is the beloved band's first-ever collection of original Christmas songs and it's out Friday, November 16 via ATO. The album was produced, mixed and engineered by John Pedigo in the band's home state of Texas. The LP presents a sack full of rockin' new Yuletide favorites, as well as Old 97's take on the New Year's Eve standard, 'Auld Lang Syne.' Among its many highlights are the title track, co-written with Kevin Russell (The Gourds, Shinyribs), 'Gotta Love Being A Kid (Merry Christmas)' and 'Snow Angels,' both co-written with acclaimed writer Ben Greenman, and the continuing saga of everyone's favorite reindeer, 'Rudolph Is Blue,' co-written by Old 97's and Dan Bern.

The Selecter Returns to North America this Month for West Coast Headline Tour

The Selecter is excited to return to the US and hit the West Coast this fall for 11 shows with special guest DJ Rhoda Dakar.  The band will be playing an extended, hit-rich set with additional live favorites and a few surprises. They will be joined for a few songs by Rhoda Dakar on vocals who will also play a DJ set to open the shows. The tour kicks-off on October 31st at the Regent Theatre in Los Angeles, hitting cities like Portland, Seattle and San Francisco before wrapping with a second show at The Casbah in San Diego on November 14th (added by popular demand, with the first show selling out months in advance).

Recipients Announced For Montreal English Theatre Awards

The Montreal English Theatre Awards celebrated it's 6th Awards Ceremony in one of the city's most beautiful and historic theatres, the Ludger-Duvernay, made possible by a new partnership with the National Theatre School of Canada and its theatre venue, the Monument-National. Anemone Share SUNSHINE, Announce Debut Album on Luminelle Records

Anemone might be the  brainchild of Montreal's Chloé Soldevila but it's the chemistry between each band member that really brings the band to life. Today the band is announcing their debut album Beat My Distance on Luminelle Records. To celebrate they are releasing a new song from the album titled 'Sunshine (Back To The Start).' Soldevila explains the song is about 'Overcoming the pattern of falling in love with someone who is unworthy, but that you still believed it could work. I called it 'Sunshine' because this song should resonate positively - it is about focusing on the bright side and coming out a stronger person; daydreaming of better, sunnier days.' Flaunt Magazine shared the song today, calling it '...perfect to accompany this Indian Summer.'

Kyo-Shin-An Arts continues its 10th anniversary season with a concert titled Crimson Leaves on Sunday, October 28, 2018 at 4pm at Tenri Cultural Institute (43A West 13th Street, NYC), which features the Boston-based, inspiring young piano trio Neave Piano Trio and KSA Artistic Director,Shakuhachi Grand Master James Nyoraku Schlefer in music for piano trio and shakuhachi. This intimate performance of chamber music blurs the lines of world culture, encompassing fiery rhythms of Iran, the sensuous passion of Argentina, the sudden drama of Hong Kong, and the austere calm of Japan. Violin, cello, piano and shakuhachi come together in music by Amir Eslami (Seasons for shakuhachi and piano trio), Astor Piazzolla (The Four Seasons of Buenos Aires for piano trio), Adrian Hon Chung Lam (Separated... at the Human Labyrinth of Asakusa Temple for shakuhachi and piano trio) and the famous traditional Shika no Tone (Cry of the Distant Deer) for two shakuhachi, with special guest Brian Tairaku Ritchi (bassist in The Violent Femmes).

A new musical is being developed by a Nova Scotian writing team that will feature songs originally made famous by Anne Murray, the Grammy-award-winning singer from Springhill, Nova Scotia. The show just underwent a 2-week developmental workshop in Halifax with an 11-member cast of actors. The workshop culminated in a staged reading presentation at the Bella Rose Arts Centre this past Friday.

Mayors Unite to Combat Weekend Hunger for Students Across the Nation

Valley Maker, the folk project of Seattle songwriter Austin Crane, will release his new album Rhododendron in two weeks, and today he shares the video for his new single 'Beautiful Birds Flying,' which was produced by Chaz Bear of Toro y Moi. Crane says of the song, 'I wrote it almost immediately after hearing about the horrific Mother Emanuel Church shooting in Charleston, South Carolina - which is a city I love in the state where I grew up... The song wrestles with the presence/recurrence of violence in the world and how to respond to that - feeling tendencies towards escapism, while also acknowledging an inevitable rootedness in places and patterns that are complicit.' 

Hippo Campus Releases New Single 'Golden'

Hippo Campus will be releasing their sophomore album Bambi this Friday on Grand Jury Music and today debuted another track to give fans a taste of what's to come. Guitarist/vocalist Nathan Stocker says of the song: “golden,” formerly known as “polka dot socks,” is a series of questions within a long-lasting relationship. the desire to scrap everything paired with the desire to keep it all intact. the journey in walking that fine line. the song was written quickly at the beginning of our demoing process, but it took a while to fashion it in a way that felt right. and we realized that there are no answers to the questions asked in the lyrics, but you have to ask them anyway.'
