In 2022, Wisconsin is trying to make “fetch” happen with performances of Broadway’s National Tour of Mean Girls happening at Marcus Performing Arts Center (Jan. 25-30), Fox Cities Performing Arts Center (Week of Aug. 22) and Overture Center for the Arts (Aug. 30-Sep. 4).

On this Women's Christmas, Finding a Voice has announced that the fifth edition of the innovative concert series will take place from March 3rd to 8th 2022. Netflix has released a new clip of Ashley Park in Emily in Paris! Park plays Mindy Chen in the series, which also features Emily Cooper, Philippine Leroy Beaulieu, Lucas Bravo, Kate Walsh, Jeremy O. Harris, Camille Razat, Samuel Arnold, Bruno Gouery, and William Abadie. Park was seen on Broadway in Mean Girls, The King and I, and Mamma Mia.

Originally scheduled to play at the Eccles Theater in August 2020, the national tour of MEAN GIRLS was absolutely worth the wait.  Stuffed to the brim with laugh out loud jokes, earwormy songs, and introspective moments, and boasting top notch performances and production values, it is yet another Broadway-caliber touring production gifted to the Utah theatre community by Broadway at the Eccles.  

Last night (Nov 22), Faith Salie and friends celebrated the opening night of Approval Junkie, Audible Theater’s New York premiere production at the Minetta Lane Theatre. Performances run through December 12 only.

Back in 2004, Tina Fey brought us the movie “Mean Girls”, a cute little teen comedy that could have been just another blip in a bevy of teen comedies were it not for the stellar writing of Ms. Fey and a killer cast. Because of that, the movie has become a bit of a classic in the genre. A shining example of how to do it right. Then Fey, along with husband Jeff Richmond for the music and Nell Benjamin for the lyrics chose to convert her classic into a Broadway Musical. They brought over all that stellar writing from the movie, and that’s part of the problem. The other part of the problem is that the new elements, the music and lyrics, don’t quite live up to the writing. So, what we’re left with is a faded carbon copy of the original that while still fun, isn’t quite as “Fetch” as the original.

Regent's Park Open Air Theatre have today confirmed their 2022 summer season, the venue's 90th anniversary. The musical Legally Blonde (13 May – 2 July) is directed by Lucy Moss, co-writer and co-director of Six.

Popejoy Presents has announced the First National Tour of MEAN GIRLS — the record-breaking new musical comedy produced by Lorne Michaels, Stuart Thompson, Sonia Friedman, and Paramount Pictures based on the hit film — will be coming to Popejoy Hall from December 7, 2021, to December 12, 2021.

Reprising their roles from the 2019-2020 season are Danielle Wade as Cady Heron, Megan Masako Haley as Gretchen Wieners, Jonalyn Saxer as Karen Smith, Mary Kate Morrissey as Janis Sarkisian, Eric Huffman as Damian Hubbard, Adante Carter as Aaron Samuels, Kabir Bery as Kevin G. and Lawrence E. Street as Mr. Duvall.

The First National Tour of Mean Girls is coming to Overture Hall from Tuesday, Jan. 11 to Sunday, Jan. 16, 2022, as part of the 2021/22 Broadway at Overture season. Single tickets are on sale now.
