Rep Stage, the regional theatre in residence at Howard Community College (HCC), continues its 24th season with Jane Martin's "H2O," directed by Kasi Campbell. "H20" transports audiences into the reclusive, madcap world of Jane Martin's drama/comedy/love story about self-destruction, notoriety, and the dark journey to purity and salvation. "H2O" opens February 15, 2017, with a limited run through March 5.

1st Stage, Tysons Corner's award-winning professional theater, announces the extension of their critically-acclaimed production of Lobby Hero by Kenneth Lonergan, directed by 1st Stage Artistic Director, Alex Levy.  

Director Matt Bassett has a genuine hit on his hands, driven by hilarious performances featuring two actresses-Tia Shearer (Matt) and Katie Jeffries (Ben)-who bounce gleefully off of each other for a one-hour romp. David Auburn's Pulitzer Prize winning play Proof is about as well constructed a play as ever written. The simple story revolves around Catherine, a young woman on the eve of her 25th birthday who is dealing with the death of Robert, her mathematician father; the arrival of her precocious sister, Claire; and Hal, a young former PhD student of her father's coming to go through his writings.

Named as one of the Ten Best Plays by New York Magazine and lauded by Variety for its "bracing wit and intelligence," the play features four New Yorkers as they seek shelter, physically and spiritually, in a variety of temporary homes and with one another. In this smart and sexy comedy, relationship questions are recast as real estate issues-Who will move in with whom? What will be the price of this commitment?-and Berman take a fresh approach to examining the trials and tribulations of being on your own in a bewildering existential landscape.

On the eve of her 25th birthday, Catherine's life has been turned upside down. After years of caring for her father, a brilliant but unstable mathematician, he has passed away leaving her to pick up the pieces of the life she suspended during her tenure as his caregiver.

CAPS FOR SALE, THE MUSICAL, coming off a national tour to more than 17 cities, ends its monkey business Off-Broadway at The New Victory Theater, tonight, February 27, through March 6, 2016.

D.C.'s ambitious Women's Voices Theater Festival this fall involves more than 50 regional theaters premiering what's billed as the largest number of original works by female writers in history. Remounting a work originally presented at Woolly Mammoth's rehearsal room earlier this year, the Alliance for New Music-Theatre now brings their original adaptation of METAMORPHOSIS to the new Capital Fringe performance venue.
