MCC's SMOKEFALL, Starring Zachary Quinto, Begins Tonight Off-Broadway

MCC Theater welcomes film and television star Robin Tunney, making her stage debut opposite Zachary Quinto in the New York premiere of Smokefall by Noah Haidle, directed by Anne Kauffman, who directed The Nether for MCC last season to great acclaim. Smokefall will play the Lucille Lortel Theatre (121 Christopher Street) with previews beginning tonight, February 4, 2016, and an opening night set for February 22. It is scheduled through March 13.

The heavens appear to open above the Minneapolis audience when a cloud filled sky hovers over the stage in the' Guthrie Theater's Wurtele Thrust Stage this winter. Artistic debuts abound in the company's glorious new production of William Shakespeare's Pericles, named one of the Washington Post's 2015 top ten productions in American theater. The production arrives in association with the Oregon Shakespeare Festival and The Folger Theatre where incoming Artistic Director Joseph Haj transports the city to this ancient tale placed on and around the Mediterranean Sea where redemption washes like water over Shakespeare's heroes and heroines at the story's end.

Profiles Theatre continues its 27th season with VICES AND VIRTUES, two full evenings featuring eleven short plays by Resident Artist Neil LaBute, performing in rotating repertory. Each evening features Midwest and World premieres of some of LaBute's newest shorts, staged by individual directors and featuring an ensemble cast of twenty performers. Profiles' production runs at The Alley Stage, 4147 N. Burning Coal Theatre Company and CAM Raleigh present the US premiere of Blue Sky by Clare Bayley, directed by Gus Heagerty with artwork by Derek Toomes at CAM/Raleigh (409 West Martin St. Raleigh, NC 27603) Thursdays through Saturdays, January 28-30, February 4-6*, and 11-13, 2016 at 7:30 pm and Sundays January 31, February 7 and 14, 2016 at 2:00 pm.
