Birdland will kick-off their exciting month of programming with the following acts:

Calling all fans of the Algonquin Hotel! On November 17th at 8 pm, Amas Musical Theatre (Donna Trinkoff, Artistic Producer) will present a very special concert performance of Michael Colby's 'The Algonquin Kid,' his popular memoir of growing up in the legendary hotel. With a singing cast that defines excellence, along with new and revealing stories about Marilyn Monroe Peter Ustinov, Douglas Fairbanks, Jr., and a collection of stunning Hirschfeld drawings, and props from the Hotel itself, the phrase "quintessential New York evening" comes to mind.

FEINSTEIN'S/54 BELOW, Broadway's Supper Club, and Broadway Celebrates Awareness of Women's Suffrage (BCAWS) present "Schoolhouse Rock (The Vote)!" - celebrating the 45th anniversary year of "Schoolhouse Rock!," the iconic, animated educational television series on Sunday, Nov. 4, at 9:30 p.m.

It's an evening of cabaret at The Never Get! The York Theatre Company will present An Intimate Night at The York, celebrating the lush history of New York City cabaret with a special 'intimate' evening with commentary by special guest James Gavin (Intimate Nights: The Golden Age of New York Cabaret), interspersed with performances by award-winning cabaret artists including Natalie Douglas, Shana Farr, Marissa Mulder, T. Oliver Reid, Steve Ross, KT Sullivan, Bill Zeffiro, and more! 

Acclaimed singer/pianist Billy Stritch returned to the Birdland Theater stage on Wednesday, October 17, with two shows. The Grammy-nominated performer entertained with a selection of jazz, popular standards and bossa nova by a range of songwriters including Sammy Cahn and Jimmy Van Heusen, Michel Legrand and the Bergmans, and Brazilian composers Antonio Carlos Jobim and Ivan Lins.

For three decades, the unofficial launch of 'autumn in New York' has been marked by the annual Cabaret Convention of The Mabel Mercer Foundation. This year, their four individual concerts will once again be presented at 6 p.m. at the Rose Theater, Jazz at Lincoln Center, beginning Today, October 9thand running through Friday, October 12th. More than seventy diverse vocalists -- ranging in age from seventeen to ninety -- are scheduled to entertain; thirteen of these will make their New York Cabaret Convention debuts during the 2018 performances.

Aretha Franklin, The Queen of Soul, who passed away on August 16th, will be celebrated in story and song at Feinstein's/54 Below on Sunday, October 7th, at 9:30pm, in a concert directed and produced by Robert W. Schneider.

Birdland Jazz Club officially opened the Birdland Theater last night, September 20, 2018. The new convertible 100-seat venue occupies the lower level of the existing Birdland Jazz Club at 315 West 44th Street.

The Broadway at Birdland concert series was proud to present singer Natalie Douglas with another one of her "Tributes!" On Monday, September 19, Ms. Douglas, along with musical director Brian Nash, a band of all-star musicians and special guest Gene Taylor, celebrated the music and magic of the one and only...Cher.

The American Songbook Association just presented its first Annual Gala, The Joint Is Jumpin'!, a joyous celebration of contributions to the American Songbook by Black songwriters and notable singers. The ASA also presented its first annual Lifetime Achievement Award to singer Marilyn Maye, presented by her longtime friend, fashion designer, Bob Mackie.

It's a good thing Gianni Valenti built the new Birdland Theater incorporating substantial soundproofing material. The screams and laughter coming from last night's audience would have alarmed the upstairs music lovers enjoying a great performance in the legendary 'Jazz Corner of The World'

Lee Roy Reams (Tony nominee for 42nd Street), Jane Summerhays (Tony nominee for Me and My Girl), Diane J. Findlay (Fish in the Dark), Neva Small (Fiddler on the Roof), and Don Johanson (Jelly's Last Jam) have joined the 40th Anniversary concert of BALLROOM, the 1978 Tony nominated musical, at Feinstein's/54 Below today, September 4th at 7:00pm.

The American Songbook Association (ASA) is proud to present its first Annual Gala, The Joint Is Jumpin'!, a joyous celebration of contributions to the American Songbook by Black songwriters and notable singers. The ASA will also present its first annual Lifetime Achievement Award to singer Marilyn Maye. The award will be presented to Maye by her longtime friend, fashion designer, Bob Mackie. The event takes place at The Irene Diamond Stage at The Pershing Square Signature Center, 480 W. 42nd Street, New York City, on September 17, 2018 at 7:30 PM.
