On Sunday 13 August friends, colleagues and loved ones came together to raise a glass and celebrate the life of actor, archivist and author Murray Melvin. The event was organised by Murray’s close friend and mentee, Artistic Director Kerry Kyriacos Michael. The day consisted of performances, tributes and speeches.
BroadwayWorld is saddened to report that British actor Murray Melvin has died at age 90. Murray made several stage and screen appearances, including The Phantom of the Opera, A Taste of Honey, Torchwood and Barry Lyndon.
The College Academic Board gave Stella Kanu, Executive Director at LIFT (London International Festival of Theatre), an Honorary Fellowship of Rose Bruford College of Theatre and Performance. The award was presented in person as part of a Graduation Ceremony on Friday 24th September held in the Rose Theatre, Sidcup campus.

The remarkable taboo-breaking 1950s play written by Shelagh Delaney when she was just 19 will play a limited 12-week run in a co-production with Trafalgar Theatre Productions, with a press night on Monday 9 December.
The National Theatre today announced that Bijan Sheibani's (Barber Shop Chronicles, Dance Nation) production of A Taste of Honey, the remarkable taboo-breaking 1950s play written by Shelagh Delaney when she was just 19, will transfer to the West End immediately following a nine-week UK tour. A Taste of Honey will play a limited 12-week run at Trafalgar Studios from 5 December in a co-production with Trafalgar Theatre Productions, with an opening night on Monday 9 December. Tickets will go on sale to the general public from 11 October.

Kerry was nominated for his contribution to the arts and for his collaboration with the Barbican, by Sir Nicholas Kenyon, Managing Director of The Barbican Centre. The Freedom is offered to individuals by the City of London Corporation to celebrate a significant achievement and to pay tribute to their outstanding contribution to London or public life.
