Jennifer Leigh Warren to Sing Songs of Bassey; Richard Jay-Alexander Directs

Chris Isaacson in association with UPRIGHT CABARET announced the world premiere of Jennifer Leigh Warren starring in 'LITTLE WOMAN/BIG VOICE: The Songs of Dame Shirley Bassey,' which will make its Los Angeles debut in Spring 2011. Acclaimed Director Richard Jay-Alexander (Barbra Streisand, Bette Midler 'Kiss My Brass' Tour, Bernadette Peters) is at the helm.

It's an opportunity to see acting legends James Earl Jones and Vanessa Redgrave together on stage when they star in one of the most beloved and celebrated American stories of the late twentieth century, Driving Miss Daisy, which will have its Broadway premiere this fall. Alfred Uhry's Pulitzer Prize-winning play (later adapted into an Oscar-winning film) is a timeless, searing, funny, and ultimately hopeful meditation on race relations in America, told through the complex relationship between Daisy Werthan (Redgrave) and her driver Hoke Colburn (Jones), two of popular culture's most enduring characters.

Mambo Takes Over for Nguajah in FELA!

Tony Award nominee Sahr Nguajah played his final performance as Fela Anikulapo-Kuti on October 10, and Kevin Mambo is taking over as the title character. Mambo, who has won two Daytime Emmy Awards for his appearances on GUiding Light, has been alternating the role with Nguajah since it opened last year. Nguajah is set to star in the upcoming West End production of the show

On Tuesday, September 28, FELA! received Actors' Equity Association's Advisory Committee on Chorus Affairs (ACCA) fourth annual ACCA Award for Outstanding Broadway Chorus. The award, the only industry award of its kind, honors the distinctive talents and contributions made by the original chorus members of a Broadway musical. Ravinia Announces Upcoming August Events

Legendary soprano Kiri Te Kanawa returns to Ravinia Festival in a rare intimate Martin Theatre recital at 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 18. This performance also features director of the Steans Music Institute vocal program Brian Zeger on piano. The program includes works by Scarlatti, Vivaldi, Handel, Liszt, Strauss, Rachmaninoff, Ginastera, Guastavino and Canteloube.
