Cleveland Play House continues its virtual 105th Season with the second installment of the monthly series, Theatre Thursday: Ohio Votes! on October 15th at 7:00 pm.
Johnny Lee Davenport and Director Benny Sato Ambush collaborate for a powerful production of George Stevens, Jr.'s THURGOOD in its area premiere at New Repertory Theatre in Watertown. Together, they create a humanized portrait of Thurgood Marshall, the first African-American Supreme Court Justice, that is at once relatable and larger-than-life. It is also a reminder that one man can make a difference if he is determined and perseveres.
Thurgood Marshall has been called the 'greatest lawyer of the 20th Century,' 'Mr. Civil Rights,' and is credited with doing 'more than any other American to lift the burden of racism from our society.' It is only appropriate that his life and judicial story be told during Black History month. Ensemble is doing exactly that by presenting multi-award winner George Stevens, Jr.'s THURGOOD.
