Empire State Youth Orchestra Announces SpringUP Festival

Empire State Youth Orchestra today announced the SpringUP Festival, a series of eight concerts featuring street performances, an immersive Soundwalk in Albany's Washington Park, and virtual mainstage performances in ESYO's new Virtual Concert Hall.

Oregon Symphony Nominated for a 2021 Grammy Award

Oregon Symphony has announced its recording of Aspects of America: Pulitzer Edition, conducted by Music Director Carlos Kalmar, has been nominated for a 2021 Grammy Award in the Best Orchestral Performance category. This is Oregon Symphony’s third Grammy nomination in the category under Kalmar.

Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra Will Present the World Premiere of Juan Pablo Contreras' LUCHA LIBRE!

Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra (LACO), led by Music Director Jaime Martín, presents the world premiere of Juan Pablo Contreras' Lucha Libre!, a LACO Sound Investment Commission, on Saturday, March 28, 8 pm, at Glendale's Alex Theatre, and Sunday, March 29, 2020, 7 pm, at UCLA's Royce Hall. The program also features renowned pianist Denis Kozhukhin on Ravel's Piano Concerto in G major and R. Strauss's orchestral suite Le Bourgeois gentihomme.

California Symphony Announces Viet Cuong As New Young American Composer-in-Residence

California Symphony and Music Director Donato Cabrera announced today that Viet Cuong has been selected as the orchestra's new Young American Composer-in-Residence, for the three-year period from August 1, 2020 through July 31, 2023. Launched in 1991, the intensely competitive Young American Composer-In-Residence program has been hailed as a?oemodel for residency programs across the country,a?? (Mercury News) offering outstanding, emerging American composers a unique opportunity to write orchestral music while working with a professional orchestra and conductor, and to engage with the local Bay Area community over a three-year period.
