Prospect Theater Company, one of America's leading producers of new musical theater, will kick off its 2012-2013 season with a one-night-only concert presentation of The Rockae, a hard rock musical based on Euripides' The Bacchae featuring music and lyrics by Kleban and Fred Ebb, Award-winning writer Peter Mills, and a book by Mills and Cara Reichel (Illyria, Golden Boy of the Blue Ridge, upcoming Death For Five Voices). The performance will take place at New York's Le Poisson Rouge tonight, October 7th.

The National Alliance for Musical Theatre (NAMT) announced today updated casting for the 24th Annual Festival of New Musicals and for the Songwriters Showcase that Tony nominee Nancy Opel and Tony winner and NAMT alum Joe DiPietro (O. Henry's Lovers '98) will host as part of the Festival on Friday, October 12 from 1:20-2:30pm at New World Stages (340 West 50th Street).

Tony Award-winning actress Alice Ripley was the special surprise guest at the Broadway Artists Alliance 2011 Winter Workshop. Ripley had a Q&A with the students of Broadway Artists Alliance. She surprised the students with a performance of her new single 'Beautiful Eyes,' and a song from Next to Normal.

Shaiman and Wittman lent their talents for a surprise Q&A with the students of Broadway Artists Alliance. Following the Q&A, they led a Song Interpretation master class.

The National Entertainment Fund for the Cultural Arts (NEFCA) and event Co-Chair Michael Steinhardt proudly present the 7th Annual Broadway Purim Shpiel at the Hudson Theatre on Monday, March 14th, 2011 at 7pm. For one night only, stars from Broadway's biggest hit shows join together for the Broadway Purim Shpiel, a hilarious retelling of the Purim story. Beginning Tuesday, October 19, 2010, Dee Snider is hosting post-show 'Rock Senate Hearings,' which will occur every Tuesday night and feature Q & A's with special guests and ROA stars. Mick Jones, founder of the rock band Foreigner and author of the smash hit song, ‘I Want to Know What Love Is,' which is featured in ROCK OF AGES, kicked off the 'Hearings' with Snider last night.
