Black Swan Brings Molière's TARTUFFE to the Heath Ledger Theatre

Black Swan State Theatre Company & Queensland Theatre will next month present a WA Premiere of Moliere's Tartuffe - The Hypocrite in a new version by Justin Fleming from Sat 22 October to Sunday 6 November in the Heath Ledger Theatre at State Theatre Centre of WA.

Belvoir Tell Us More About FAITH HEALER

Judy Davis will direct Faith Healer in her Belvoir directorial debut. Previously she has directed Victory, The School for Scandal and Barrymore for Sydney Theatre Company. First performed in 1979, Faith Healer is a masterpiece by one of the greatest playwrights of the last 50 years, Brian Friel. The acclaimed Irish playwright's works have won the Tony, the Olivier and the Critic's Circle Awards for Best Play.

State Theatre Company Announces 39 STEPS

A brand new production of the Olivier Award-winning comedy The 39 Steps that will star Nathan Page, of Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries fame, is set to warm up Adelaide's winter.

Sydney Theatre Company to Present THE HANGING

The Hanging by STC's 2014 Patrick White Fellow, Angela Betzien, receives its world premiere at Sydney Theatre Company (STC) from 28 July to 10 September 2016. STC Resident Director Sarah Goodes and Resident Designer Elizabeth Gadsby are at the helm following their recent success with STC's Disgraced by Ayad Akhtar. The Hanging features Ashleigh Cummings of Network Ten's Puberty Blues alongside one of Australia's most versatile actors, Genevieve Lemon. Returning to STC following his highly regarded performance in last year's Battle of Waterloo by Kylie Coolwell, Luke Carroll completes the cast.

Simon Burke Joins Cast of Black Swan's CLINTON: THE MUSICAL

Black Swan has announced that leading actor, singer and producer Simon Burke AO will make his debut performance with the company and join the cast of Clinton: The Musical, from Queensland brothers Paul Hodge and Michael Hodge.

MTC to Present THE DISTANCE

Award-winning actors Nadine Garner (The Weir), Susan Prior (Puberty Blues) and Katrina Milosevic (Wentworth) star in the Australian premiere of The Distance, an observant and funny new play that examines one of society's biggest taboos. Directed by Leticia Caceres, this play of moral dilemmas and big laughs opens on Thursday 10 March at Southbank Theatre, The Sumner.

VENUS IN FUR Makes Sydney Premiere Tonight at Eternity Playhouse

Having seduced audiences on Broadway, David Ives' hilarious, sexy and provocative smash hit Venus in Fur makes its Sydney debut. Darlinghurst Theatre Company presents the highly anticipated Sydney premiere tonight 2 June at Eternity Playhouse.

STC Patrick White Playwrights' Award Winner & Fellow Revealed

Kate Mulvany has been announced as the latest recipient of STC's Patrick White Playwrights' Fellowship at a special event at The Wharf on Friday 22 May. Now in its fifth year, the Fellowship is a position for an established playwright whose work has been produced professionally in Australia within the last four years. Mulvany receives $25,000 in recognition of her body of work and previous artistic achievements. As well as including a commission from STC which she will develop during the year-long tenure, the Fellowship provides opportunities for her to share her skills with other playwrights and artists.

STC & Barking Gecko Theatre Company to Present STORM BOY

The 2013 production of Colin Thiele's Storm Boy, adapted for the stage by Tom Holloway in a co-production by Sydney Theatre Company (STC) with Perth's Barking Gecko Theatre Company, returns by popular demand to STC (opening 25 April) followed by an extensive tour to Wollongong, Geelong, Canberra, Mandurah and Perth. Directed by John Sheedy, the play follows Storm Boy as he roams the beautiful, savage landscape of wave-beaten shores and windswept dunes, picking up some unlikely friends along the way, among them the enigmatic Fingerbone Bill and a family of orphaned pelicans, including his favourite, Mr Percival.

Miriam Margolyes Bringing Solo Show to State Theatre Company

State Theatre Company will welcome the irrepressible Miriam Margolyes back in 2015. After the hugely successful season of Neighbourhood Watch in 2014, Miriam - simply one of the greatest actresses in the world - joins us as part of the world premiere Australian tour of her one-woman show, The Importance of Being Miriam.

JUMPY Opens in March at Drama Theatre

Australian comedy icon Jane Turner (Kath & Kim) and Logie Award-winning Brenna Harding (Puberty Blues) play mother and daughter in Jumpy, a refreshingly candid and funny family drama which charts the perils of growing up and growing old. The Australian premiere of April De Angelis' West End hit is directed by Pamela Rabe, opening at the Drama Theatre, Sydney Opera House on Saturday 28 March 2015, preceded by a run at Melbourne Theatre Company from 31 January to 14 March 2015.

BECKETT TRIPTYCH, BETRAYAL, MORTIDO and More Set for State Theatre Company's 2015 Season

State Theatre Company today announced its 2015 season at a launch held in the Dunstan Playhouse. After a highly successful season to date in 2014, which included 7 Helpmann Award nominations and two wins for the Company's co-production with Windmill Theatre of Pinocchio; sell-out performances and two new box office records, 2015 is set to be another very strong season.
