Mentorship is at the core of StateraArts' mission of creating pathways that bring women* into full and equal participation in the arts. Melinda Pfundstein, Statera's Executive Director, said, 'Professional mentorship for women and non-binary artists is a positive, proactive, and proven way to counter gender imbalance in the workplace. And we're thrilled to share that in 2020, Statera Mentorship will expand to classes in sixteen regions.'

To close out their 29th season, Book-It Repertory Theatre (Book-It) presents Imbolo Mbue's Behold the Dreamers. Adapted and directed by Myra Platt, Mbue masterfully weaves a story of class divide, immigration and marriage in her remarkable debut novel. Jende and Neni Jonga have recently emigrated from Cameroon to America to try to make a new life for themselves and their young son. When the Great Recession starts to upend the economy, the Jongas begin to grasp the fragility of the American dream. Behold the Dreamers plays June 6-30, 2019 (Opening/Press Night on Saturday, June 8) at The Center Theatre.
Florida Studio Theatre announces that, in association with the National New Play Network (NNPN), it will produce and host the NNPN Women in Playwriting Festival this spring. Part of FST's Sarasota Festival of New Plays, this three-week Festival will take place throughout April and May, with staged readings of the featured plays in FST's Keating Theatre on April 26, May 3, and May 10, and in FST's Bowne's Lab Theatre on April 24.

Lookingglass Theatre Company announces new leadership positions. Joining Artistic Director Heidi Stillman and Executive Director Rachel L. Fink to lead the theatre, the Board has elected Nancy Timmers, a prominent civic leader and philanthropist, as Board Chair and Richard Chapman, Member of Counsel at Clark Hill PLC, as Board President. Lookingglass has also appointed Hilary Odom as the company's new Director of Development.
PCPA's upcoming summer season will include six plays in three venues from June 14 through October 21, 2018. Just added to the season are An Iliad by Lisa Peterson and Dennis O'Hare and Muthaland written and performed by Minita Gandhi running in repertory in October.
