Kneehigh To Stage New Version Of Gunter Grass' THE TIN DRUM In Upcoming Season

Kneehigh's Artistic Director and Founder Mike Shepherd announces an exceptional season of revivals and world premieres for 2017.  In keeping with the company's indefatigable spirit, the season will be a heady and eclectic mix of vibrant and subversive visions, asking vital questions about who we are and how we live today.  

Denise Gough to Reprise Olivier Award-Winning Role in PEOPLE, PLACES & THINGS at St. Ann's Warehouse

St. Ann's Warehouse, building upon its rich history of partnerships with the UK's most exciting theaters and theater artists, is proud to join forces with the National Theatre and Headlong for the first time to present the American Premiere of Duncan MacMillan's People, Places & Things, a National Theatre / Headlong co-production, directed by Jeremy Herrin, which was one of last season's must-see shows on the West End. Denise Gough will reprise her Olivier Award-winning role as an actress whose life has spun recklessly out of control because of her addiction to alcohol and drugs.

Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts Presents the Los Angeles Premiere of 946: THE AMAZING STORY OF ADOLPHUS TIPS

The brilliant theatricality of Kneehigh, the innovative United Kingdom-based theater company, will be on display at the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts once again when 946: The Amazing Story of Adolphus Tips has its Los Angeles premiere.  Based on the beloved book by War Horse author Michael Morpurgo, 946 explores everything we thought we knew about the D-Day landings in this tender musical tale of love and war. Adapted by Morpurgo and Emma Rice, who also directs, 946 is a Kneehigh production presented in association with Birmingham Repertory and Berkeley Repertory Theatres. Performances begin February 9 with the opening on February 10.

Little Angel Theatre to Stage A VERY OLD MAN WITH ENORMOUS WINGS This Winter

When a strange looking old man falls from the sky and into a quaint fishing village the surprised locals don't know quite what to make of him at all. Add to their surprise a sickly boy being miraculously restored to health and an irresolvable infestation of crabs being suddenly resolved, and we have the beginnings of a very marvellous story.

Cast Announced For 946: THE AMAZING STORY OF ADOLPHUS TIPS At Shakespeare's Globe

Shakespeare's Globe is delighted to announce casting for 946: THE AMAZING STORY OF ADOLPHUS TIPS, co-adapted by Michael Morpurgo and Globe Artistic Director Emma Rice. After a critically acclaimed 2015 run at Kneehigh's Asylum, Emma Rice's family show will be brought to London for the first time, before embarking on a major international tour of the UK and US. It tells the story of the rehearsed D-Day landings in Devon's Slapton Sands, and stars Katy Owen as the heroine Lily, Mike Shepherd as her grandfather, Adam Sopp as the evacuee Barry, and Nandi Bhebhe and Ncuti Gatwa as American soldiers Harry and Adi.

Kneehigh's Asylum Season Returns to Cornwall with Three New Shows

Now in its sixth year, The Asylum has firmly established itself in the public's consciousness as a must-go event on the summer calendar. The award-winning purpose built tent is a unique space full of playful surprises and irreverent fun and this year's season which runs from Thursday 14 July to Sunday 28 August is even bigger with three new productions.

Kneehigh Welcomes Ali Robertson as Executive Producer

?Kneehigh today announced the appointment of Ali Robertson as the company's new Executive Producer.  Ali will take up the position in June taking over from Paul Crewes, who, after 10 extraordinary years with Kneehigh becomes Artistic Director of the Wallis Annenberg Center for Performing Arts (aka The Wallis) in Los Angeles .

This continues to tour whilst Dead Dog in a Suitcase (and other love songs) is starting out on its UK tour.

This autumn Kneehigh return to Birmingham Repertory Theatre following their sell-out run of Rebecca earlier this year, with their critically acclaimed radical new reworking of the Beggar's Opera, Dead Dog In A Suitcase (And Other Love Songs).
