Atlanta's nationally acclaimed ALLIANCE THEATRE and Jennings Hertz Artistic Director Susan V. Booth just announced the productions of the Theater's 50th anniversary season. Since opening in 1968 the Alliance has been dedicated to expanding hearts and minds on stage and off with diverse programming for all ages, including 110 world premieres.

Hot off the success of the critically acclaimed KPOP last fall, Drama Desk and Obie Award-winning Ma-Yi Theater Company and The Public Theater announce TEENAGE DICK, a new play by Mike Lew (Tiger Style!), being given its world premiere Off-Broadway, June 12 - July 15, 2018, at The Public Theater, 425 Lafayette St.

La Jolla Playhouse is pleased to bring back for a sixth year its acclaimed new play development initiative, the DNA New Work Series, a weekend of readings of new works, taking place March 22 - 25, 2018 in the Playhouse's Rao and Padma Makeneni Play Development Center. The Public Theater announced the fifth season of PUBLIC STUDIO today, which will present two new plays this spring. Continuing The Public's commitment to nurturing new playwrights, the two plays will run in succession in The Public's Shiva Theater and be presented as pared-down productions with the low ticket price of $15. This vital program continues The Public's mission of making new work by emerging artists accessible to all audiences.

Perseverance Theatre is pleased to announce its 40th season, filled with classics, comedies, a classic musical, and exciting new work by and for Alaskans. This season brings characters from a wide range of backgrounds and places. Journey with us from the arctic in Whale Song to New York City in Guys and Dolls, to New England in Our Town, and London in A Christmas Carol (Anchorage), with stops in a contemporary high school in Teenage Dick, a research expedition into the Northwest Passage in Franklin, and 19th century Germany in Steve Martin's hilarious adaptation, The Underpants (Juneau). The Alliance/Kendeda National Graduate Playwriting Competition continues to spotlight the best emerging playwrights with a full production for the competition winner and staged readings for four competition finalists.  Sheltered, the 14th competition winner, is the story of one American couple's harrowing decision to rescue 50 Jewish children from Europe during WWII.  Sheltered is written by Alix Sobler who recently earned her MFA in Playwriting from Columbia University. During the Alliance's season-long renovation, Sheltered will be staged at Actor's Express, March 1 - 25, 2018. 

In what has become an annual ritual, a total of 36 established and emerging composers, lyricists, and librettists will converge on the Goodspeed campus from mid-January through mid-February 2018 to participate in the Johnny Mercer Foundation Writers Colony at Goodspeed Musicals. The writing teams, representing 18 new musicals, will populate the campus, creating a truly exciting environment for discovery and inspiration.

Philadelphia Asian Performing Artists (PAPA) solidify their presence in the city with their first full production, Tiger Style! By Mike Lew. Travelling from California to China this raucous comedy examines the successes and failures of 'tiger parenting' from the point of view of a playwright who's actually been through it.This hilarious and fast-paced story of the struggle of two siblings to deal with their upbringing, heritage, and loaded preconceptions was described by ArtsATL as 'a spirited, fast-paced, colorful, funny and entertaining romp that's as energetic as it is easy to like.'
