The Kimmel Center & Joe's Pub At The Public Present 2017 Kimmel Center Theater Residency

Joe's Pub at The Public partners, once again, with Philadelphia's renowned Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts for the Kimmel Center Theater Residency. Under the guidance of Jay Wahl, Producing Artistic Director of the Kimmel Center, and Shanta Thake, Director of Joe's Pub, the intensive program serves as an incubator for artists and collaborators to create and develop innovative new musical theater projects and music. The program will be held in the Kimmel Center's SEI Innovation Studio (300 South Broad Street, Philadelphia, PA) from June 5-18 with free public workshops with audience feedback and Q&A on June 16 and 17.

Brooklyn-based, Venezuelan-born dynamo Migguel Anggelo brings his acclaimed show 'Another Son of Venezuela' to the Detroit Institute of Arts (DIA) on Nov. 18 as part of its Today Night Live! concert series. With his virtuosic band The Immigrants and a pair of sensational singers, Anggelo will create a kaleidoscope of vocal theatrics and poetic storytelling that is both hilarious and touching. Presented by Culture Lab Detroit, the performance will take place in the museum's Detroit Film Theatre auditorium at 7 p.m. and is free with museum admission, which is free for residents of Wayne, Oakland and Macomb counties.

The panel also anticipates Culture Lab Detroit's upcoming performance, in collaboration with the Detroit Institute of Arts, Migguel Anggelo and The Immigrants: Another Son of Venezuela, November 18.

FRIGID New York @ Horse Trade in association with Hard Sparks will present the World Premiere of J.Stephen Brantley's THE JAMB, directed by David Drake, tonight, September 1, through September 17 at The Kraine Theater (85 East 4th Street between 2nd Avenue and Bowery) with performances Today through Saturday at 7pm.
