The New Group has announced additional casting for Sweet Charity, the production launching the company's 2016-2017 Season. Choreographed by Joshua Bergasse and directed by Leigh Silverman, this production features Yesenia Ayala, Darius Barnes, James Brown III, Asmeret Ghebremichael, Shuler Hensley, Sasha Hutchings, Donald Jones, Jr., Nikka Graff Lanzarone, Emily Padgett and Joel Perez, and as previously announced, two-time Tony Award winner Sutton Foster as Charity Hope Valentine. A limited Off-Broadway engagement plays November 2 - December 11 at The Pershing Square Signature Center (The Romulus Linney Courtyard Theatre, 480 West 42nd Street), with Official Opening Night set for Sunday, November 20.

The Outer Critics Circle, the organization of writers and commentators for media covering New York theatre hosted its award ceremony for the 2015-16 season last night, May 26, at Sardis in Manhattan. Broadway's Cynthia Erivo, Danny Burstein, Jane Krakowski and more received awards, prsented Marlo Thomas, Alex Sharp, Sheldon Harnick and Victoria Clark. Check out photos below!
Ivo van Hove's A VIEW FROM THE BRIDGE to Open in LA?

The Young Vic's critically-acclaimed Olivier Award-winning production of Arthur Miller's A View from the Bridge directed by Ivo van Hove, which opened to rave reviews at Broadway's Lyceum Theatre last fall, might be heading across the country. The LA Times' Charles McNulty writes in a recent interview with van Hove that the play will open at the Ahmanson Theatre in September. An official announcement has not yet been made.

Off-Broadway's The New Group will honor Ed Harris & Amy Madigan and Ellen Roth at the company's Annual Gala on Monday, March 7 at Tribeca Rooftop (2 Desbrosses Street between Hudson & Greenwich). Hosted by Mario Cantone, the event will feature performances by Jerry Dixon and Nat and Alex Wolff, and an appearance by playwright Beth Henley, author of Crimes of the Heart and The Jacksonian. Music Director is Sinai Tabak. The evening, 6:00-10:00pm, includes cocktails, dinner, and silent and live auctions.

A limited number of onstage seats at the rush price of $20 are now available on the day of performance to the Young Vic's critically-acclaimed Olivier Award-winning production of Arthur Miller's A View from the Bridge directed by Ivo van Hove, which opened to rave reviews last week at the Lyceum Theatre (149 West 45th Street). These onstage seats, which are also available in advance at the regular price of $135, afford theatregoers a more immersive experience, are unobstructed, and provide audience members a unique opportunity to be right beside the action onstage.
