The Regent's Park Open Air Theatre has announced the complete cast for its production of Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine's INTO THE WOODS. Helen Dallimore (Cinderella), Beverly Rudd (Little Red Riding Hood), Simon Thomas (Rapunzel's Prince), and Michael Xavier (Wolf and Cinderella's Prince) will be joining the previously announced cast members. These include Hannah Waddingham (The Witch), Jenna Russell (Baker's Wife), Marc Antolin (Swing), Valda Aviks (Granny), Billy Boyle (Mysterious Man), Gaye Brown (Cinderella's Stepmother), Sophie Caton (Swing), Alice Fearn (Rapunzel), Mark Goldthorp (Steward), Amy Griffiths (Lucinda), Mark Hadfield (Baker), Amy Ellen Richardson (Florinda), Ben Stott (Jack), and Gemma Wardle (Cinderella's Mother).

In celebration of Sondheim's eightieth birthday, the Open Air Theatre season closes with INTO THE WOODS, co-directed by Timothy Sheader and Liam Steel. Perfectly placed within the Open Air Theatre amphitheatre, the musical gives the stories of The Brothers Grimm a dark and humorous twist. The production officially opened and the reviews are in! The UK Daily Mail reports that Michael Ball will soon see theatre from a different angle. Ball has decided to assume the role of producer for the first time with LOVE STORY, a musical adaptation of the Erich Segal novel. His investment is estimated to be close to £250,000.

Python fans are to be offered the opportunity to bid for iconic items from the hit West End musical, Monty Python's SPAMALOT as the show concludes its run in the West End. Amongst the items up for auction are the Holy Grail which has adorned the front of the Palace Theatre since the show opened, the infamous killer rabbit with nasty pointy teeth, a Knight of Ni and French Taunter costume and in a paean to the expletive a 13 metres by 9.5 metres painted back cloth featuring the words ?Piss Off'.

Today, Sanjeev Bhaskar is confirmed as the last King of the Britons to perform at the Palace Theatre in the multi award-winning, record-breaking Monty Python's SPAMALOT. Bhaskar, who was due to end his run on 5 October, will now retain his throne until the show's final West End performance on Saturday 3 January 2009 at 8pm. In June this year Bhaskar was crowned as the new King Arthur, following in the footsteps of Tim Curry, Simon Russell Beale, Peter Davison and Alan Dale.
