BWW Reviews: MCT's THE GOOD FATHER Garners Poignant Questions On Family

What constitutes being a 'good' father or parent-before or after a child's conception and birth? These unexpected questions deceptively have their answers woven through Milwaukee Chamber Theatre's Midwest second selection of their 40th anniversary season of THE GOOD FATHER opening at the Broadway Theatre Center this fall. Featuring actors Jonathan Wainwright and Laura Gray, Irish playwright Christian O'Reilly's complex conversational script keeps audiences smiling and thinking for two compelling acts.

BWW Reviews: KILLER JOE at SeeNoSun OnStage is a Knockout

Pulitzer Prize winning author Tracy Letts loves the idea of a dysfunctional family. In his most famous work, August: Osage County, Letts gives us a glimpse into the well-to-do Weston family as they cope with pain and sorrow. In his first produced play, Killer Joe, Letts shows us the pain and sorrow caused by a down-on-their-luck family in Texas. The rarely produced play (and rarely seen 2011 movie) is dark and gritty both in context and character. The dysfunctional family at the 'heart' of the story centers around Ansel and Sharla, his hot young second wife; his two children: Chris, who is in constant trouble, and the slow Dottie; and the title character - a Dallas detective who moonlights as a hitman.

TNT's MAJOR CRIMES Returns to 6.7 Million Viewers

TNT's packed summer slate got off to a roaring start last night, with the hit series Major Crimes scoring a total of 6.7 million viewers for its season 3 premiere and encore, and the powerful new drama Murder in the First garnering 4.9 million viewers for its series debut and encore. Both series now sit atop this year's ratings charts for premieres. Major Crimes, which drew 5.2 million viewers at 9 p.m. (ET/PT) now ranks as basic cable's #1 scripted season premiere for the year-to-date. Murder in the First, which brought in 3.8 million viewers at 10 p.m. (ET/PT), ranks as the #1 new series launch on basic cable so far this year.
