Tracie Bennett, Janie Dee and Imelda Staunton play the magnificent Follies in this dazzling new production. Featuring a cast of 37 and an orchestra of 21, the production is directed by Dominic Cooke (Ma Rainey's Black Bottom). Kinky Boots, Broadway's huge-hearted, high-heeled hit, today announces the release of the West End cast recording on Sony Masterworks. The album was recorded live with the current West End cast at the Adelphi Theatre and is available to buy from Friday 1 April 2016 and pre-order on Friday 11 March 2016.
The second trio of leading stars announced for the third in the intimate West End Switched Off concert series are Sam Lupton (Wicked, Avenue Q), Carolyn Maitland (Miss. Saigon, Cabaret, From Here To Eternity), and Michael Vinsen (Kinky Boots, Book of Mormon, Hairspray). It's been a frantic fortnight for Emma Hatton, the Elphaba standby for Wicked in London. With Willemijn Verkaik leaving the show earlier than expected and Kerry Ellis going back into green in August, that means a short notice two-week run for Hatton - and she's also preparing for a concert version of song cycle Edges in the Delfont Room on August 1st.
We popped down to see Carrie Hope Fletcher, Emma Hatton and Niall Sheehy in rehearsal for Edges, which they'll be performing in concert with co-star Michael Vinsen next month!
