Whether a Broadway freshman or seasoned senior, BroadwayHD viewers can get schooled in theatre classics like The Sound of Music and Romeo and Juliet, to more advanced theatre titles like The Importance of Being Earnest to Lady Day at Emerson’s Bar & Grill, and graduate with honors.

BroadwayHD will be expanding their partnership with the revered San Francisco Opera with the debut of Moby-Dick by composer Jake Heggie and librettist Gene Scheer on November 17th.

BroadwayHD today announced that it will be bringing the San Francisco Opera's 2014 performance of Show Boat exclusively to their platform. This dynamic production of the iconic hit, directed by Francesca Zambello, will be available on the service beginning October 16.

If Robert Lepage's production of Wagner's Ring Cycle (formally, DER RING DAS NIBELUNGEN) had worked as smoothly when it opened in 2010 as it did at this season's marvelous premiere of its prologue, DAS RHEINGOLD, on Saturday afternoon, there probably still would have been complaints--not about its focus on technology but on its traditional approach. Personally, i liked it.

Starring in all performances in the title role is Clémentine Margaine, who made her celebrated Met debut in this role in 2017.  Yonghoon Lee and Roberto Alagna share the role of Carmen's lover, Don José. Guanqun Yu, Aleksandra Kurzak, and Susanna Phillips sing the role of Micaëla, and Kyle Ketelsen, Alexander Vinogradov, and Michael Todd Simpson portray the toreador Escamillo. Conductor Omer Meir Wellber makes his Met debut leading the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra in interpreting Bizet's famous score; winter performances are conducted by Louis Langrée.

Anyone who was expecting the equivalent of Bette Midler's arrival as Dolly in the Harmonia Gardens when Jonas Kaufmann finally returned to the Met, on October 17, after four years and some high-profile cancellations, must have been wildly disappointed. Oh sure, Kaufmann looked like a glamorous buckaroo and compared to some of the star tenor misfires already this season at the Met, he had a triumph.

Soprano Eva-Maria Westbroek sings Puccini's gun-slinging heroine in this romantic epic of the Wild West, with the heralded return of tenor Jonas Kaufmann in the role of the outlaw she loves. Tenor Yusif Eyvazov also sings some performances. Baritone Željko Lu?i? is the vigilante sheriff Jack Rance, and Marco Armiliato conducts. 

The Met: Live in HD, the Metropolitan Opera's award-winning series of live high-definition cinema simulcasts, will begin its 13th season on October 6, with the Met's grand production of Verdi's Aida, starring one of the world's most acclaimed sopranos, Anna Netrebko.

Giacomo Puccini's LA BOHEME will play at The Metropolitan Opera through March of 2018, and the critics are weighing in!

Puccini's La Boh me, the most-performed opera in Met history, returns to the repertory this season with 15 performances of Franco Zeffirelli's production from October 2, 2017 to March 10, 2018. Initial performances feature soprano Angel Blue making her Met stage debut as Mim , with the role sung later in the season by Anita Hartig and Sonya Yoncheva. Three acclaimed tenors, Dmytro Popov, Russell Thomas and Michael Fabiano, share the role of Rodolfo. Sopranos Brigitta Kele and Susana Phillips play Musetta with baritones Lucas Meachem and Michael Todd Simpson as Marcello.

Roberto Aronica will sing the role of Don Jose in the February 15 performance of Bizet's Carmen, replacing the originally scheduled Marcelo Álvarez, who is ill.

San Francisco Opera today announced plans to return to KQED 9 for the sixth season of spectacular opera and musical theater works featuring a roster of internationally renowned singers, conductors, directors and designers, all recorded live in high-definition from the War Memorial Opera House.

The Dallas Opera is proud to present the final production of the company's ambitious 2015-2016 Season, composer Jerome Kern and Oscar Hammerstein II's SHOW BOAT.  This groundbreaking 1927 masterpiece marks TDO's first ever presentation of a Great American Musical, providing a showcase for a host of stars from both the opera world and Broadway, as well as the company's first major artistic collaboration with Dallas Black Dance Theatre in the Winspear Opera House.
