Kritzerland at Sterling's Upstairs at The Federal presents its fourth anniversary show -- THE SONGS THAT GOT AWAY III -- on Sunday, September 7, 2014 at 2 p.m. AND 7 p.m. Doors open at 1 p.m. before the JUST ADDED matinee for brunch/lunch.

For our 48th Kritzerland show we're proud to present a salute to some incredible female lyricists of the musical theatre, mostly Carolyn Leigh, the brilliant lyricist of such Broadway shows as Little Me, Wildcat, Peter Pan and others, as well as such classic pop songs as 'Witchcraft' and 'The Best Is Yet to Come,' as well as other great female lyricists like Lynn Ahrens (Once on this Island, Ragtime, Seussical), Carol Hall (The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas), Marsha Norman (The Secret Garden), Gretchen Cryer (I'm Getting My Act Together and Taking it on the Road), Fran Landesman (The Nervous Set, 'Spring Can Really Hang You Up the Most'), Amanda McBroom ('The Rose', Heartbeats) and Carole Bayer Sager (They're Playing Our Song). Kritzerland's Bruce Kimmel has recorded many of the lyricists above and has chosen the usual Kritzerland colorful and eclectic program, a mix of the well- known and the unknown. As always, we've assembled a stellar cast. So, come join us for some amazing songs by some amazing women.

On Sunday June 29 handsome singer Bernard Dotson brought his unique friendly style and self-proclaimed big black man powerhouse voice to an SRO crowd at Sterling's Upstairs at the Federal with his debut cabaret show Unexpected Songs, which recently played the Metropolitan Room in New York. This very talented Los Angeles-born man has a passion for the arts that stretches back 18 years when he was singing for Disney Cruises and eventually in 6 different Broadway shows.

In True Hollywood, stars-studded fashion, BWW TV Los Angeles Correspondent and Co-Producer Michael Sterling, along with Co-Producer/Videographer Jordan Santacana captured LA's first official day of summer at the historic, world renowned Hollywood Bowl where an audience of 18,000 celebrated the landmark's 93rd season and 15th Annual Hall of Fame to which the delicious concoction of Pink Martini, pop icons the Go-Go's, and Broadway mega star and American treasure Kristin Chenoweth were honored and inducted.

BWW TV's LA Correspondent/Co-Producer Michael Sterling and Videographer/Co-Producer Jordan Santacana were front and center with the stars attending the Actors Fund 18th Annual Tony® Awards Live Viewing Fundraising Party made possible by Tony® Awards Productions, Inc., the American Theatre Wing, the Broadway League, Direct TV and CBS. Wells Fargo presented the evening Sunday, June 8, 2014 at the Skirball Cultural Center's new Guerin Pavilion/Herscher Hall in Los Angeles which was reported by event producer Luke Yankee to have raised $300,000. BWW TV's Los Angeles Correspondent and Co-Producer Michael Sterling along with Videographer and Co-Producer Jordan Santacana... celebrate The Independent Presenters Network and its June 4th opening night of JOSEPH AND THE AMAZING TECHNICOLOR DREAMCOAT Hollywood's Pantages with a run there that continues through June 22, 2014.The production, directed and choreographed by Tony® Award-Winner Andy Blankenbuehler, stars Ace Young as 'Joseph,' and Diana DeGarmo as the 'Narrator', both who stopped by the Red Carpet to talk about the show and its current U.S. National Tour. Joining the couple were such stars as Priscilla Presley, Judd Nelson, Doris Roberts, Peyton List, Kevin Chamberlin, John Gammon, Aubrey Anderson-Emmons, Jacqueline Toboni, Lorenzo Lamas, Kay Cole, Kate Linder, Renee Marino, Sam Harris, Sharna Burgess, and Scott Wilson.

Michael Sterling celebrated the 8th anniversary of his popular Supper Club, Sterling's Upstairs at the Federal, on Monday, June 9th, continuing a tradition he began in 2006 to honor his dear friend and mentor, Rosemary Clooney. Sterling promised her that he would make sure future generations would be able to hear the music of Broadway and the Great American Songbook in LA. A man of his word, he has presented over 600 shows since closing his doors at his original venue at Vitello's and opening at The Federal in 2012.

Sterling's Upstairs - housed at popular LA hot spot The Federal in North Hollywood's NoHo Arts District - has not only been described by the Los Angeles Times as "LA's cabaret destination;" but was just cited by LA Weekly as one of Los Angeles's top five supper clubs, With an arsenal of similar accolades from LA based media, Sterling's Upstairs celebrates its eight-year anniversary this month with Broadway performers Maura Hanlon Smith (June 9), Sandy Bainum (June 22) and Bernard Dotson (June 29-June 30). Kritzerland Records' Nobody Does it Better... The songs of Dorothy Fields kicked off the month-long celebration on June 1st featuring Tara Browne, Cynthia Ferrer, Zachary Ford, Kim Huber, Jenna Lea Rosen, Sami Staitman, Sarah Staitman, Robert Yacko and Special Guest... Broadway's Kerry O'Malley.

The 46th Kritzerland show on Sunday, June 1 featured one of the most influential female lyricists of all time, the great Dorothy Fields. In a time when Tin Pan Alley was almost exclusively a male-dominated club, Dorothy Fields rose to the top, first writing hit after hit with Jimmy McHugh, and later becoming one of the first female lyricists on Broadway and in film. Fields created some of the cleverest and most beautiful lyrics ever written, and was a master of the craft who forged the way for so many other talented female lyricists. There was no one like Dorothy Fields.

Over two dozen stars of film, stage and television were given a standing ovation by a sold out crowd for the 30th Anniversary of S.T.A.G.E. at the historic Saban Theatre in Beverly Hills, CA Saturday, May 10, 2014. And, on hand to get up close and personal with the stars, were BWW TV's longtime Los Angeles Correspondent and Co-Producer Michael Sterling with Videographer/Co-Producer, Jordan Santacana. WAKE, written by New York-based Carey Crim, will have its west coast premiere presented by LA's critically acclaimed SeaGlass Theatre company today, April 26 through Sunday, May 25, 2014 at the beautiful Fremont Centre Theatre in South Pasadena, CA, it was announced by Ovation nominated actor and SeaGlass Theatre Managing Director Paul Stroili, along with SeaGlass Artistic Director Kimberly Van Luin. WAKE'S five all-star member ensemble will feature Nancy Berggren, Alison Blanchard, Michael Connors, Allie Costa, and Lauren McCormack. Matt Kirkwood has been set to direct.

Sunday, April 6, 2014, the group celebrated its two-year anniversary with THESE APRIL FOOLISH THINGS with not only foolish songs but ones having to do with Spring or the month of April in general.

Jennifer Kranz, a senior at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles majoring in Theatre and minoring in Musical Theatre, emerged victorious Sunday, February 16th as LA's Next Great Stage Star® 2014 produced and presented by Sterling's Upstairs at The Federal, the most critically acclaimed concert supper club in the greater Los Angeles area.
