Delving into the darkly absurd corners of corporate America and middle-man-purgatory, director Michael Sladek makes his NYC stage debut with a fresh production of Below the Belt by acclaimed playwright, Richard Dresser. Presented by Black Lodge Theater, the work will be staged in the old boiler room of the iconic Westbeth Center for the Arts.
Adventure Stage Chicago (ASC) closes their 10th season with the world premiere of SPARK: Chapter One of The Prometheus Project, which completely re-imagines the myths of Prometheus and Pandora. SPARK runs April 5 - May 8, 2014 and is written by Tom Arvetis (ASC Producing Artistic Director) and directed by Rives Collins (Theatre and Drama for Youth Specialist, Northwestern University).
The Human Race Theatre Company, Dayton's only professional regional theatre company, launches its 28th season next September with a richly diverse 6-play combination of productions on its Eichelberger Loft Series. Adventure Stage Chicago (ASC) has crafted a one hour version of Marco Ramirez's Six Stories Tall, directed by Tom Arvetis, to be performed Fri., Nov. 8th as part of the Auditorium Theatre's Student Matinee Series. Additionally, ASC will present six school performances of Six Stories Tall at Vittum Theater this November.
Producer Matt Murphy announced that his family musical The Berenstain Bears LIVE! has recouped its initial investment following its 2nd Anniversary Off-Broadway in New York City. Having entertained nearly 20,000 boys, girls, parents, and grandparents, the musical's official second year anniversary performance featured a celebration on the Bear Country stage with Murphy and the cast. Murphy thanked the cast and creative team for their contributions over the past two years and added, "I am thrilled that the greater New York area has embraced our show and allowed us to continue on a weekend schedule that caters to families. Time and time again, we hear from parents who are so happy to have introduced their children to the wonderful world of theatre with characters they know and love from The Berenstain Bears books. As long as New Yorkers will have us, we will keep bringing the vibrant and colorful world of Bear Country that Stan and Jan Berenstain created more than 50 years ago to life through song and dance Off-Broadway."

Youth Theater has announced a new production of Michael Slade and Joel Gelpe's The Little Moon Theater, based on the book by Irene Haas, with choreography by Joanna Greer, musical direction by Jim Colleran and direction by Janine Nina Trevens.
