Last night, August 2, audiences at Joe's Pub took a musical road trip across the country in Free to Dream, an evening devoted to the songs of Katsaros and Schermerhorn. Featuring an all-star Broadway cast including Rent star Anthony Rapp and Avenue Q's John Tartaglia and Stephanie D'Abruzzo, Free to Dream showcased the people and places that make up the fabric of America; from country, rock and pop, to swing and the blues. Proceeds from Free to Dream benefit The New York Pops' education programs, which bring music to thousands of public schoolchildren across the five boroughs of New York City. The evening was hosted by The New York Pops Music Director Steven Reineke, and featured the Camp Broadway Kids, as well as the voice of Willard Scott as ‘DJ Sam.'

IMAGINOCEAN's 'Dorsel' has released a music video professing a deep love for Tony- and Emmy Award-winning Kristin Chenoweth, currently appearing in Broadway's PROMISES, PROMISES. In the video, 'Dorsel,' voiced by IMAGINOCEAN creator and performer John Tartaglia, performs Stephen Schwartz's 'Popular' from Broadway's WICKED, a song originally performed by Chenoweth. Last night, May 23, the Drama Desk Association hosted the 55th Annual Drama Desk Awards ceremony at the F.H. LaGuardia Concert Hall at Lincoln Center. Former Drama Desk Award winner Patti LuPone hosted the ceremony, which honored the best of Broadway and off in the 2009-2010 season. With increased demand for the weekend performances, John Tartaglia's ImaginOcean is scheduling two additional shows on Saturdays at New World Stages, starting the week of May 10, 2010. New Saturday show times will be at 2PM and 4:30PM in additional to the current 11AM performance, offering convenient times and more opportunities for families with young children to see Imaginocean.
