Michael Riedel reports in today's New York Post that producers of FOLLIES on Broadway had been trying to convince the Nederlanders to allow the show to extend past its current January 22, 2012 closing date at the Marquis Theater. Now, Michael Riedel reports in the New York Post that the play is getting closer to Broadway with a new reading set for Friday in New York, featuring Beau Bridges, his daughter Emily and Shuler Hensley. Riedel also reports that Justin Timberlake who has been looking for a theatre project will be 'approached' for the role of the show's young legal protege, Jack Brigance, played out of town by Sebastian Arcelus. There's no word on a potential timeline for the show, or if Timberlake is interested in the part.

Michael Riedel reports in today's New York Post that Jude Law is Broadway-bound next year in the hit production of ANNA CHRISTIE currently running at London's Donmar Warehouse. The show, which opened to rave reviews, is directed by Rob Ashford. The production is said to be unable to transfer immediately due to film committments, but producer Arielle Tepper Madover (whose ANNIE is Broadway-bound as well) is now raising funds to transfer the production.
