Justin Greer, whose long list of Broadway credits includes Shrek the Musical, Seussical, Urban Cowboy, Annie, The Producers, Annie Get Your Gun and Anything Goes, has co-created, with Usdan Center for the Creative and Performing Arts' Theater Dept. Chair Jim Incorvaia, a four-day workshop titled "Acting the Musical Moment." Taught to Usdan's senior theater majors, the workshop focuses on the intersection of acting and singing.

Norm Lewis - the Tony Award nominated leading man who will soon make history as the first African-American Phantom in The Phantom of the Opera on Broadway- will play the title role in a special industry reading of Mandela: A New Musical with book, music and lyrics by Steven M. Fisher on Monday, March 31 at 3:00 PM. It will be directed by David Glenn Armstrong with Music Direction by Micah Young.

Over the weekend, the York Theatre Company (James Morgan, Producing Artistic Director; Andrew Levine, Executive Director) continued the Winter 2014 Musicals in Mufti Series Celebrating Sheldon Harnick with Malpractice Makes Perfect with Book, Music and Lyrics by Sheldon Harnick. The show featured direction by David Glenn Armstrong, music direction by Amanda Morton, and casting by Geoff Josselson.

Joe Lodato and Matthew Morris, The Church of St. Paul the Apostle, GeekNerdWonk Charitable Foundation, and Sing for Hope presented 'You Are Not Alone' a star-studded concert to benefit the Trevor Project last night, November 22. Lea DeLaria hosted the evening with feature performances from Ricky Ian Gordon, Andrew Keenan-Bolger, Marc Kudisch, Aaron Lazar, Erin Quill, Seth Rudetsky, John Tartaglia, Jeanine Tesori, and Tony Yazbeck, as well as Emily Albrink, Jeff Blumenkrantz, Attila Joey Csiki of Lar Lubovitch Dance Company, Constantine Germanacos, Joe Lodato, Matthew Morris, Todd Palmer, Kate Pazakis, Kathleen Tagg, and Nurit Tilles. Michael Rader directed the concert with stage management from David M. Beris.
