For it's 35th season Inside Broadway and it's Creating the Magic program invited 2,500 NYC school children inside the Neil Simon Theatre to get a behind the scenes look at how the musical CATS happens. The cast and crew of CATS, along with Inside Broadway CEO Michael Presser were on hand to show the excited kids how a Broadway musical comes to life.
In celebration of its landmark 35th anniversary season, leading NYC arts education nonprofit Inside Broadway and the Broadway production of Cats will partner with the NYC Public School system in 2016-2017 to provide exciting and enriching arts education programs to thousands of students in over 30 schools, both in the classroom & on Broadway.

To Celebrate Black History Month, New York City's leading arts-education non-profit organization Inside Broadway (www.InsideBroadway.org) will present the classic Duke Ellington musical Sophisticated Ladies to over 25 N.Y.C. Public Schools throughout Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens & The Bronx at the end of January and during February & March. A dancing and singing celebration of history & music, this award-winning Broadway musical examines Duke Ellington's life and focuses on the Harlem Renaissance, a unique time of cultural growth in New York's history. Inside Broadway's special production will tour schools beginning next week, with the first performance on Monday, January 25th. Performances are scheduled at the end of January and throughout the months of February & March.
New York City's leading arts-education non-profit organization Inside Broadway (www.InsideBroadway.org) will now be bringing its hugely popular after-school theater "Create a Musical" Program to a total of 20 N.Y.C. Public Schools throughout Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens & The Bronx as of January 19. This special arts program for elementary, middle & high school students culminates in a Final Performance at each school and is funded by the New York City Council through the NYC Department of Cultural Affairs under the Council's C.A.S.A (Cultural After-School Adventures) Initiative. Seven additional schools will be participating in the program in the winter & spring.

The school busses were lined up early at The Lyric Theatre for the 10:15 & 1:15 special mini performances by some of the cast members of the hit show On The Town.
