USA Network's REAL COUNTRY Announces Contestants

Today, USA Network revealed the 21 artists competing in its new music showcase series REAL COUNTRY and the prizing they will be vying for. Set to premiere November 13 at 10/9, each contestant was hand-selected by the show's permanent panel of artists – five-time GRAMMY Award®-winning trailblazer Shania Twain, platinum-selling singer-songwriter Jake Owen and GRAMMY Award®-winning music legend Travis Tritt.

Curated by Juan Michael Porter II, THE SERIES 2017 presents a versatile range of artistically provocative choreographers in contrasting programs of dance.  At each performance, one or two of the 12 guest companies will share the program with Michael Mao Dance in a set of works that run the gamut from social dance to jazz to contemporary ballet to abstract pieces marked by their German Expressionistic values. The common thread running through each company featured in THE SERIES  is the use of spectacular physical virtuosity to communicate fantastic ideas, June 6-11 at the Hudson Guild Theatre, 441 West 26th Street.

Miro Magloire opens the 2016-17 season of his New Chamber Ballet with two world premieres: Tanz Tanz, set to music by contemporary Germany composer Reiko Fueting, and a new work to a commissioned score by Michel Galante.  The program will be completed by Miro works to music by Giuseppe Tartini and Ravel, September 16 & 17, 8 PM, in City Center Studio 5, 130 West 56 Street.

There may be 'no second acts in American lives' - thank you, Fitzgerald - and yet Enrique Cruz DeJesus has lived so many exciting chapters that seven or eight books could be devoted to his journey. Mr. DeJesus has been the Artistic Director and Resident Choreographer of Alpha Omega Theatrical Dance Company since 1998, inheriting directorship of this nearly 45 years old company from Andy Torres during a time when the future was anything but certain. Having led a successful concert dance career - that saw him working with Eleo Pomare, Talley Beatty, Gary Deloatch, Martial Roumain and George Faison - Mr. DeJesus transitioned in to a highly successful theatre career with his stage debut at Shakespeare in the Park's production of 'Measure for Measure' under the direction of George C. Wolfe.
