John Breglio announced today that the 2009 national tour of Tony Award-winning, smash musical Dreamgirls will hold open auditions at Ripley Grier (520 8th Ave 10th floor) in New York and at Studio Dionne School of Dance and Music (524 Plasters Ave) in Atlanta on Saturday May 9, 2009 with audition sign-in from 9:00am till 11am in New York and 10am - 12pm sign in at the Atlanta studios.

In response to extraordinary ticket demand and with the initial 9-week run already essentially sold out, TimeLine Theatre Company announces a 6-week extension of its critically acclaimed Chicago premiere of The History Boys by Alan Bennett, directed by Nick Bowling. The play, originally scheduled to close on June 21, will now continue through August 2, 2009, at TimeLine Theatre, 615 W. Wellington Ave., Chicago.

Producer John Breglio and the Apollo Theater Foundation, Inc. announced today that tickets for the smash hit musical Dreamgirls at the Apollo Theater go on sale Friday, April 17 at 10am. The national tour of Dreamgirls will premiere at the legendary Apollo Theater (253 West 125 Street) for a four-week limited engagement November 7 through December 5. Performances are Tuesday though Saturday at 8pm with matinees Wednesday and Saturday at 2pm and Sunday at 3pm. The New York Post's PAGE SIX is reporting that James Nederlander is producing a musical version of Michael Jackson's video for his hit song ‘THRILLER'. Jackson's album of the same name is the best-selling record of all time. It spawned such hits as ‘Billie Jean', ‘Beat It', ‘The Girl Is Mine' and of course ‘Thriller'. Not much else is known other than a production is being planned.

Today, an Equity casting notice was put up for a revival of the musical Dreamgirls. According to the notice, rehearsals will begin September 21, 2009 with performances starting in early November 2009.

Written by Asmus and directed by Hobgood, Amelia Earhart Jungle Princess is, 'an escapist adventure fantasy, with a thoughtful underbelly,' says Asmus.

The premiere West End cast of the smash hit multi-award winning Broadway musical Hairspray has been announced. Michael Ball will star as Edna Turnblad, Mel Smith as Wilbur Turnblad, Leanne Jones as Tracy Turnblad and Ben James-Ellis as Link Larkin . Hairspray open at the Shaftesbury Theatre on Tuesday October 30, following previews from October 11.
