What most people don't realize is that the majority of those bankruptcies, the person involved actually had insurance at the onset of their health crises,' says Milligan. This discovery led him to collect stories from people suffering financial disaster on top of chronic illnesses.

Macbeth will open tonight, June 19th, 2015, and will star Emmy Winner Daniel Kucan in the title role. Macbeth will be directed by Ovation - nominated actor and designer, Michael Keith Allen.

The Harold Clurman Playwrights Division, a program of the Stella Adler Studio of Acting, is now accepting new play submissions. In the eighth annual search for a resident playwright, the division is calling for new dramatic works written exclusively by playwrights of color. The division is also seeking ensemble plays for casts of seven to ten female roles or gender neutral roles; playwrights of all ethnicities are welcome to apply with an ensemble play.

Williams, will open Janaury 22nd, 2015 in Los Angeles; Macbeth by William Shakespeare, directed by Don K. Williams, will open in May of 2015 in Los Angeles; a world premiere of a new play, developed by the Harold Clurman Playwrights Division, will open in June of 2015 in New York; and Uncle Vanya by Anton Chekhov, directed by Tom Oppenheim, will open in September of 2015 in New York.

The Harold Clurman Playwrights Division, a program of the Stella Adler Studio of Acting, has announced the results of its search for ten-minute plays with social impact. In early 2014, the division sought plays that address issues of the environmental crisis or global violence against women and girls. Over sixty plays were received. Seven of them will be read on Monday, October 20, 2014 at 7pm as part of the Harold Clurman Festival of the Arts, an annual event that highlights the relationship between art and social activism. The cast will be comprised of studio alumni and faculty. The selected plays and authors follow:

American Theater Company (ATC) kicks off its 30th Anniversary season with two Chicago premieres exploring healthcare in America: Anna Deavere Smith's documentary Let Me Down Easy featuring ATC Ensemble Member Usman Ally, and Mercy Strain by Michael Milligan, top prize winner at the 2013 Edinburgh Festival. ATC's production is the first time Let Me Down Easy will be performed by an artist other than Deavere Smith.

American Theater Company announces the final production of its 30th Anniversary season: the world premiere of The Project(s), a documentary play on Chicago's public housing, conceived, co-written, and directed by ATC Artistic Director PJ Paparelli and co-written by Joshua Jaeger.

The Harold Clurman Playwrights Division, a program of the Stella Adler Studio of Acting, has opened its search for the Playwright-in-Residence for 2015 and announced three additional categories for playwrights. The residency program seeks an emerging writer who will collaborate with the studio for one year, develop a new play and receive a $1,000 stipend. The current resident is Dennis Staroselsky and previous residents include Halley Feiffer, Mia Chung, Anton Dudley, Christina Gorman, Zayd Dohrn, and Peter Nickowitz.

The award winning one-man show MERCY KILLERS, written by and starring Broadway actor Michael Milligan, will be presented at Lannie's Clocktower Cabaret for one night only, on Sunday, March 9th at 7:00 p.m. This thought-provoking and moving play, about America's broken health care system, is sponsored by the Healthcare for All Colorado Foundation.
