Aronoff Center for the Arts Announces $25 Lottery Seats for AMERICAN IDIOT, 4/11-12

A day-of-performance lottery for a limited number of orchestra seats will be held for AMERICAN IDIOT, which is playing its Cincinnati debut at the Aronoff Center with performances April 11-12, 2014. Two and one-half hours prior to each performance, people who present themselves at the Aronoff Center box office will have their names placed in a lottery drum; thirty minutes later, names will be drawn for a limited number of orchestra seats at $25 each, cash only. This lottery is available only in-person at the box office, with a limit of two tickets per person. Lottery participants must have a valid photo ID when submitting their entry form and, if chosen, when purchasing tickets. AMERICAN IDIOT will play the Aronoff Center April 11-12, 2014: Friday at 8:00PM and Saturday at 5:00pm and 9:00pm.

49TH Parallel in association the multi-award-winning NoHo Arts Center Ensemble (NoHo ACE), are thrilled to present the Los Angeles premiere of a new play, BE A GOOD LITTLE WIDOW, written by Bekah Brunstetter (OOHRAH!) and directed by Sara Botsford. BE A GOOD LITTLE WIDOW will preview on Thursday, April 17 at 8pm and will open on Friday, April 18 at 8pm and run for six weeks through Sunday, May 25, 2014 at the NoHo Arts Center, 11136 Magnolia Blvd. (at Lankershim) in North Hollywood.

In a recent interview with the San Diego Union-Tribune, Tony winner Duncan Sheik revealed that the time is drawing near for the highly-anticipated film version of his 2006 musical- Spring Awakening. He told the UT: 'We're trying to get the 'Spring Awakening' movie made this year. It's in process, and we have a fancy director (McG) and a fancy producer (Playtone, Tom Hanks' company) involved. So fingers crossed we'll be diving into it.'

DCINY expands its collaboration with innovative young composer and two-time Grammy Award- winner Christopher Tin with an exhilarating night of Tin's music at Carnegie Hall. The Drop of Dawn on Sunday, April 13 at 8:30 pm, unites two large-scale, multi-lingual choral and orchestral works: the world premiere of The Drop That Contained The Sea, and a performance of Tin's acclaimed Calling All Dawns, whose opening movement, "Baba Yetu," made history as the first piece of music written for a video game to win a Grammy Award. Performing with the Distinguished Concerts Orchestra and Singers International, which features outstanding choruses chosen from across the US, Canada and England, and conducted by DCINY Artistic Director Jonathan Griffith, is an array of spectacular singers and world music artists including mezzo-sopranos Jacqueline Horner-Kwiatek (of Anonymous 4) and Charity Dawson, tenor Saum Eskandani, Indian Classical vocalist Roopa Mahadevan, Mongolian pop star Nominjin, and Portuguese fado singer Nathalie Pires. Tony Award-nominated Best Musical and 2010 Grammy Award winner for Best Musical Show Album, Green Day's AMERICAN IDIOT will premiere at the Van Wezel on April 7, 2014 at 8PM.
