YOU'RE A GOOD MAN, CHARLIE BROWN Runs 4/12-27 at Clark Center

By:

The Peanuts characters come to life for Kelrik Productions, as the 2014 DISCOVER season continues with the Tony Award-winning YOU'RE A GOOD MAN, CHARLIE BROWN. Charles M. Schulz' immortal creations take to the stage with humor, song and dance. Colorful for children, warm and winning for adults, YOU'RE A GOOD MAN, CHARLIE BROWN, like the comic strip that spawned it, speaks to everyone. YOU'RE A GOOD MAN, CHARLIE BROWN opens on Saturday April 12, and plays until Sunday, April 27, at the Studio Theater at the Clark Center in Arroyo Grande.

"How can anything go wrong on a day like this?" asks Charlie Brown as the curtain goes up. YOU'RE A GOOD MAN, CHARLIE BROWN answers this question and many more, as Lucy, Linus, Sally, Schroeder and Snoopy join the fun on "A day in the life of Charlie Brown." Full of music, humor, and insight, the stage musical tackles childhood's memorable moments that made Schulz' "Peanuts" characters a part of all our lives.

Will this be the day that Charlie Brown actually flies his kite? Can Linus give up his blanket? Will Schroeder give in to Lucy's romantic advances? All this while Snoopy ponders the meaning of life from the roof of his doghouse. With book, music, and lyrics by Clark M. Gesner, Cabrillo's all new production of YOU'RE A GOOD MAN CHARLIE BROWN features new music and lyrics by Andrew Lippa, and additional dialogue by Michael Mayer. The result is family friendly musical entertainment that could only have sprung from the mind of Charles M. Schulz.

YOU'RE A GOOD MAN, CHARLIE BROWN features choreography by Erik Austin, and is directed by Lester Wilson. "This is a family show, not necessarily a children's show," says Wilson. "The Peanuts characters are kids, of course, and kids love them. But they deal with philosophy, psychology, sibling-rivalry, and even blanket-separation-anxiety! Trust me, there's plenty for adults to enjoy, too!" Adds Wilson, "There's a bit of these characters in every one of us! Who hasn't wanted to try one more time to kick that football? We've all been Charlie Brown, and Linus, and Lucy, and even Snoopy!"

With great songs, insightful humor, and an infectious, bubbly optimism, Kelrik's YOU'RE A GOOD MAN, CHARLIE BROWN is great entertainment for children of all ages, as well as anyone who has ever been a child. It is recommended for all ages, and is the perfect show for families to enjoy together.

Tickets for YOU'RE A GOOD MAN, CHARLIE BROWN are priced from $20 - $30 and may be purchased online at kelrikproductions.org or the Clark Center Box Office, 489 Fair Oaks Avenue in Arroyo Grande. Performances are Saturdays at 2PM and 7PM and Sundays at 2PM April 12 - 27.
