Boston Piano Amateurs Association (BPAA) celebrates its 10th Boston International Piano Competition from June 5 through 8 at Longy School of Music's Edward M. Pickman Concert Hall, 27 Garden Street Cambridge. The four-day biennial event draws top talent competitors from around the globe. Competition rounds and awards presentations are open to the public, under the leadership of Competition Director Robert S. Finley.

Newton's New Philharmonia Orchestra, Francisco Noya, Music Director, will continue its 2018-2019 Season with An Evening of Brahms, with Grammy Award-winning piano soloist, Michael Lewin. The second performance in the Classics series, An Evening of Brahms will take place on Saturday, March 9 at 8:00 p.m. and Sunday, March 10 at 3:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church, 848 Beacon Street in Newton Centre.

The Museum of Russian Icons will be presenting accomplished soloist and chamber pianist Yoko Hagino in 'Mystery, Fantasy, and Resistance,' a concert featuring an all-Russian program on Sunday, November 18 at 2pm. From the whimsical world of a child playing with toys to the dark reflections of a lonely November night, the program includes selections from Alexander Scriabin, Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky, Sergei Prokofiev, and Sofia Gubaidulina.
