Playwright/composer/lyricist Eric B. Sirota, who also happens to be a physicist by trade, scrutinizes the changing nature of love in 'Your Name On My Lips,' a new musical about a young artist who fights to hold on to his soulmate as the materialistic world tugs at her. Theater for the New City, 155 First Ave., will present the work tonight, March 2, through March 19.

Playwright/composer/lyricist Eric B. WICKED alums Lindsay Mendez, Derek Klena, and Kara Lindsay will join together tonight at Connecticut's Ridgefield Playhouse for An Evening with Stephen Schwartz. Their performances will be interwoven throughout the evening, which will consist primarily of an interview between Michael Kerker and Stephen Schwartz himself.

The 25th annual Kleban Prize for the most promising musical theatre lyricist has been awarded to Sam Willmott and the 25th annual Kleban Prize for the most promising musical theatre librettist has been awarded to Sam Carner. Following the marked success of its first American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP) event in 2013, the Lied Center for Performing Arts announces the return of the ASCAP/Grow A Show New Musical Theatre Workshop Sept. 9-11, 2015. The workshop seeks new musical theatre works with the potential to be developed and produced into full-scale productions. The Lied Center is currently accepting submissions from musical theatre playwrights and composers from across the country. Submissions must be received by Friday, May 1, 2015 to be considered.

The ASCAP Foundation just honored Tony Award-winning lyricist and director of Annie Martin Charnin with the first-ever ASCAP Foundation George M. Cohan Award at their 18th annual Awards Ceremony last night, December 11th. The invitation-only event, hosted by ASCAP Foundation President Paul Williams, was held at the Allen Room, Frederick P. Rose Hall, Home of Jazz at Lincoln Center in New York City.

ASCAP is now seeking new musicals for the annual ASCAP/DreamWorks Musical Theatre Workshop in Los Angeles. Serving once more as artistic director for the workshop is Academy and Grammy Award-winning composer-lyricist Stephen Schwartz, whose credits include hit Broadway shows Wicked, Godspell and Pippin, the Walt Disney films Enchanted, Pocahontas and The Hunchback of Notre Dame and the DreamWorks film The Prince of Egypt. The workshop will take place February 11th-13th, 2014 at 7:00pm sharp.
