Rehabilitation Through The Arts (RTA) will present a reading of Home is a Verb, a new play by Melissa Cooper based on true stories about the challenges faced when returning home after prison. Directed by Richard Hamburger, this one-night-only presentation of Home is a Verb will benefitRTA, whose mission is to use the transformative power of the arts to develop social and cognitive skills that prisoners need for successful reintegration into the community, while raising public awareness of the humanity behind prison walls.

New York Women in Film & Television has announced the honorees for this year's Muse Awards on December 14th: Laura Dern (actor), Judith Light (actor) and Amy Emmerich (Refinery29 CCO); Regina K. Scully (filmmaker and CEO of Artemis Rising Foundation) will receive the Loreen Arbus Changemaker Award; and the inaugural Nancy Malone Directing Award will be presented to groundbreaking filmmaker Julie Dash.

Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater kicks off a five-week holiday season on Wednesday, November 29 with a star-studded gala benefit, including a performance at New York City Center, and dinner-party at the New York Hilton Midtown Grand Ballroom. The gala honors Ailey Board President Debra L. Lee (Chairman and Chief Executive Office of BET Networks) for her commitment to the advancement of arts and culture and her dedication to the organization, which has helped steer Ailey to success since she joined the board in 2002. SundanceTV announced today that production is underway on season three of the network's critically-acclaimed original scripted anthology series HAP AND LEONARD, in Atlanta, Georgia. "When We Rise" was written and created by Academy Award winning screenwriter Dustin Lance Black.  This mini-series event chronicles the real-life personal and political struggles, set-backs and triumphs of a diverse family of LGBT men and women who helped pioneer one of the last legs of the U.S. Civil Rights movement, from its turbulent infancy in the 20th century to the once unfathomable successes of today.
