Rehabilitation Through The Arts (RTA) will present a reading of Home is a Verb, a new play by Melissa Cooper based on true stories about the challenges faced when returning home after prison. Directed by Richard Hamburger, this one-night-only presentation of Home is a Verb will benefitRTA, whose mission is to use the transformative power of the arts to develop social and cognitive skills that prisoners need for successful reintegration into the community, while raising public awareness of the humanity behind prison walls.

New York Women in Film & Television has announced the honorees for this year's Muse Awards on December 14th: Laura Dern (actor), Judith Light (actor) and Amy Emmerich (Refinery29 CCO); Regina K. Scully (filmmaker and CEO of Artemis Rising Foundation) will receive the Loreen Arbus Changemaker Award; and the inaugural Nancy Malone Directing Award will be presented to groundbreaking filmmaker Julie Dash.

Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater kicks off a five-week holiday season on Wednesday, November 29 with a star-studded gala benefit, including a performance at New York City Center, and dinner-party at the New York Hilton Midtown Grand Ballroom. Other notables attending the organization's 13th annual VOICES benefit include actors Rose Byrne, Bobby Cannavale and Michael K. Williams, the Honorable David N.  Dinkins, 106th mayor of New York, the Honorable Cyrus Vance, New York County district attorney, film and television producers Terence and Rachel Winter, New York Times columnist Charles Blow and DJ Beverly Bond, founder and executive director of Black Girls Rock!
