Suggs and Madness saxophonist Lee Thompson led the sell-out audience at the 10th anniversary charity gala performance of OUR HOUSE in an impromptu singalong of their greatest hits last night. It brought the curtain down at the Savoy Theatre on a night that saw many original cast members both in the production and on stage in the show in a fundraiser for the Help for Heroes Charity. Suggs played Joe's dad - a role he took in the West End in 2003. Check out photos from the event's after party below!
Last night was opening night for the revival of Torch Song Trilogy at the Menier Chocolate Factory, London. Check out these photographs of the cast, including leading man David Bedella, during their curtain call and after-show party.

This week, we are taking a listen to two wonderful West End-related winners featuring the stars of two witch-related West End musicals - THE WITCHES OF EASTWICK and WICKED - courtesy of SimG Records: Caroline Sheen's RAISE THE CURTAIN and Annalene Beechey's CLOSE YOUR EYES. These two delicious divas-in-training have proven that they have the talent, skill and technique to entertain us for many years to come onstage, but just how well do their first solo album efforts showcase their considerable abilities? Singing everything from Sondheim, William Finn and Stephen Schwartz to Adam Guettel, Jason Robert Brown, David Yazbeck and Stiles & Drewe, as well as some Joni Mitchell and Tracy Chapman thrown in for good measure, there's surely enough to satisfy all with much more than mere morsels to enjoy. All of this appreciable merriment (and even a small sampling of 'Away In A Manger' courtesy of Mitchell) and formidable entertainment comes with mostly unadorned accompaniment, as well, giving these ladies a true chance to shine their clearest and brightest in a solo spotlight all their own!
On Saturday September 22 the curtain came down on the last performance of the world premiere of the Maltby/Shire/Weidman musical, 'Take Flight', at the Menier Chocolate Factory - just proverbially of course, as the beautifully intimate space created by set designer David Farley dispensed with the use of a curtain. Instead the audience were drawn into a world on an open sand-strewn playing area that from the first moments captivated them in a triangular storyline concerning the trials and tribulations of the Wright Brothers' premiere flight as well as the lives of two other pioneers of aviation - Charles Lindbergh and Amelia Earhart.
Take Flight is a new musical by award-winning song writing duo Richard Maltby, Jr., and David Shire, with book by John Weidman. The creative team sees the award-winning trio of Sam Buntrock (Director), David Farley (Designer) and Caroline Humphris (Musical Supervisor) return fresh from their Olivier Award-winning success with Sunday in the Park with George.
Whatsonstage.com reports that Ian Bartholomew (Tommy, Into the Woods), Michael Jibson (Our House, Brighton Rock), Sam Kenyon (Sweeney Todd, Amadeus) and Elliot Levey (Beauty and the Beast) and Whatsonstage.com Award winner Sally Ann Triplett in the world premiere of Take Flight, the new musical by Richard Maltby Jr. and David Shire, set for its world premiere at London's Menier Chocolate Factory July 13, before running July 25-September 22.
