A concert honoring the life and career of the late David Gurland has been scheduled for this coming Monday. The event, DAVID GURLAND: A Celebration, will take place Monday, July 11th, at 7:00 PM in the Laura Pels Theatre at the Harold and Miriam Steinberg Center for Theatre at 111 West 46th Street. The concert, originally by invitation only, will now have a limited number of tickets available to the public.

On Thursday, July 7, open call auditions for the first-ever Broadway revival of Stephen Schwartz's landmark rock musical GODSPELL took place at The Actors Chapel in midtown Manhattan. Telsey + Company, the casting office for GODSPELL, is seeking musical theatre performers with strong singing voices and comedic ability, ages 16-30. All ethnicities and types were welcome. Thousands of hopefuls showed up for their chance to participate in the historic revival. The 40th Anniversary production and first-ever Broadway revival of Stephen Schwartz's landmark rock musical GODSPELL will begin preview performances Thursday, October 13, 2011 at Circle in the Square Theatre (1633 Broadway at 50th Street). Directed by Daniel Goldstein and choreographed by Tony Award nominee Christopher Gattelli (South Pacific), Opening Night is Monday, November 7 (7 p.m.).

On Thursday, July 7, 2011, open call auditions for the first-ever Broadway revival of Stephen Schwartz's landmark rock musical GODSPELL are set to begin at 10 a.m. at The Actors Chapel in midtown Manhattan (239 West 49th Street, between Broadway and 8th Avenue). Auditions will continue until 5 p.m.

The revival of Godspell, which has long been expected to head to Broadway next season, will reportedly open at the Circle in the Square Theatre on November 7, 2011. according to a report in the New York Times. Performances will begin on October 13, 2011.

David Gurland, the multi-award winning singer and recording artist, sadly passed away on January 1, 2011.

The Old Globe Theatre in San Diego is currently featuring Tony and Pulitzer Award winner Neil Simon's semi-autobiographical plays, BRIGHTON BEACH MEMOIRS and BROADWAY BOUND. The plays follow the life of Eugene Morris Jerome from the foibles of youth in late-1930s Brooklyn to a career as a comedy writer for radio. Brighton Beach Memoirs and Broadway Bound are performed in a rotating repertory schedule. Executive Producer Lou Spisto today announced the cast and creative team for Neil Simon's Brighton Beach Memoirs and Broadway Bound.
