USA's current longest running original series on-air, PSYCH returns as part of the network's summer weekday block of USA original series. PSYCH will premiere on WEDNESDAY, JULY 21 at 10/9c.
USA Network, the number one cable network, is set to continue its track record of award-winning and highly-rated original series for the 2010-2011 television season. Jeff Wachtel, president, original programming, USA Network and co-head, original content, Universal Cable Productions, today announced the network development slate of seven new pilot scripts from acclaimed television and film notables, including Steve Carell ('The Office'), John Michael Higgins ('Best in Show'), and Anthony Edwards ('ER'). Additionally, USA showrunners Steve Franks, creator of PSYCH, and John McNamara, executive producer of IN PLAIN SIGHT, along with FACING KATE writer Jan Nash, are in talks to develop projects, demonstrating the network's confidence in its current series collaborators.
According to a report in Variety, William H. Macy will team up with Sally Hawkins in Dirty Girl, a coming of age comedy about friendship and the search for identity set in the 1980s. The film is directed by Broadway performer and choreographer Abe Sylvia, who will be making his feature film directorial debut. The film is currently being shopped at the American Film Market.
