Cellist Maya Beiser will see the New York premiere of her new production, ELSEWHERE, a "CelloOpera," in four performances from tonight, October 17 through 20 at 7:30pm, during the 2012 BAM Next Wave Festival in the inaugural season of the Fishman Space, part of BAM's new Richard B. Fischer Building which opens in September 2012 at 321 Ashland Place in Brooklyn. ELSEWHERE is produced by Beth Morrison Projects.

AFI Fest 2012 have announced the entire lineup for the annual festival, set to open Nov. 1 and conclude Nov. 8. The 136 films chosen are listed below:

Here we are in the middle of June and we are already talking pantomime...but not just any pantomime. Today saw the launch of "Britain's BIGGEST pantomime" Robinson Crusoe and the Caribbean Pirates, taking place at the Birmingham Hippodrome from Saturday 15th December 2012 to Sunday 27th January 2013.

Brian Conley and Lesley Joseph, today weighed anchor and set sail for Britain's biggest pantomime at Birmingham Hippodrome. Robinson Crusoe and the Caribbean Pirates runs at the UK's most popular theatre from Saturday 15 December 2012 to Sunday 27 January 2013.

Maya Beiser, described by the Boston Globe as having "virtuoso chops, rock-star charisma, and an appetite for pushing her instrument to The Edge of avant-garde adventurousness," will give the world premiere of Michael Harrison's Just Ancient Loops with new film by Bill Morrison during the 12-hour Bang on a Can Marathon after 9pm tonight, June 17, 2012 at World Financial Center Winter Garden (220 Vesey Street, NYC). A recording of Just Ancient Loops will be released on Cantaloupe Music in fall 2012. The album, entitled Time Loops, also includes Harrison's Hijaz for Maya Beiser and the Young People's Chorus of New York City with Harrison on piano, plus music by Arvo Part and J.S. Bach.

Today, June 17, from noon until midnight, Bang on a Can continues celebrating its 25th year with the annual Bang on a Can Marathon, free for the public at World Financial Center Winter Garden (220 Vesey Street, NYC), presented by River To River® Festival, Arts Brookfield, and Bang on a Can.

Following two years of hugely-successful and record-breaking Christmas shows at the Clyde Auditorium, the producers of the SECC's pantomime, Qdos Entertainment have announced that John Barrowman and The Krankies will return to the venue this Christmas. John Barrowman and The Krankies have previously starred in Aladdin and Robinson Crusoe & the Caribbean Pirates and this year will lead the cast in Jack and the Beanstalk which is a change to the advertised title of Robin Hood. John will play the leading role of Jack while The Krankies will play Ian & Jimmy Trot.

Veteran radio talk show host and CRN Digital Talk Radio personality Barry Farber will be honored with the Talkers Magazine Lifetime Achievement Award tonight, June 7.
