BalletCollective Premieres New Works by Troy Schumacher Tonight

BalletCollective will present two world premiere ballets that showcase the company's commitment to artistic collaboration tonight and tomorrow, October 29 and 30 at NYU Skirball Center, 566 LaGuardia Place at Washington Square. The program will include the company's The Impulse Wants Company (2013). All pieces will be accompanied by live music and feature lighting design by Brandon Stirling Baker.

BalletCollective's Troy Schumacher to Dance with Company, 10/29

New York, NY, October 23, 2014– UPDATE: Troy Schumacher, Artistic Director of BalletCollective, will now be performing with the company on October 29 and 30 at NYU Skirball Center. Mr. Schumacher is replacing Harrison Coll, who has sustained a minor injury and is unable to perform.

The Steinhardt Program in Vocal Performance at New York University will present the musical theater classic 'Man of La Mancha' with performances running this weekend, September 19-21, 2014. Written by Dale Wasserman, the show features music by Mitch Leigh and lyrics by Joe Darion. William Wesbrooks and MK Lawson direct.

Just last night, Drama Desk and Tony Award winner Laura Benanti ('The Sound of Music Live!', Gypsy, Women On The Verge of a Nervous Breakdown) hosted the 59th Annual Drama Desk Awards at The Town Hall (123 W. 43rd Street). Big winners for the night included Audra McDonald, Bryan Cranston, Jessie Mueller, and Neil Patrick Harris and Jefferson Mays- who tied for Outstanding Actor in a Musical. The first set of presenters have been announced for the 32nd Annual Fred & Adele Astaire Awards which will be held on Monday, June 2 at 7:30pm at NYU's Skirball Center for the Performing Arts. Set to present are Tony Award-winners Hal Prince & Bebe Neuwirth, Emmy Award-winner Valerie Harper, Scandal's Joe Morton, Dancing with the Stars' Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Sandy Duncan. Adam Green & Sam Fermin Play NYU Skirball as Part of Big Red Chair Series Tonight

NYU Skirball Center has announced the second Big Red Chair Kidrockers concert tonight, March 29. The concert will feature New York icon Adam Green (The Moldy Peaches) and indie darlings San Fermin. Comedians Seth Herzog ('Late Night with Jimmy Fallon') and Craig Baldo ('Last Comic Standing') host the event.

Tan Dun's THE MAP Set for NYU Skirball Center, 5/12

Tan Dun's The Map will be performed by the NYU Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Andrew Cyr and featuring cellist Wendy Sutter on Monday, May 12 to close the second annual Visions + Voices Global Performance Series at NYU Skirball Center for the Performing Arts. This year's Visions + Voices focuses on China; it began in February and runs through May 12.

NYU Skirball Center to Sponsor SHAKESPEARE AROUND THE WORLD Panel at Metropolitan Museum of Art, 3/4

NYU Skirball Center for the Performing Arts will sponsor a panel discussion on 'Shakespeare Around the World' on Tuesday, March 4 at The Metropolitan Museum of Art (1000 Fifth Avenue at 82nd Street). The event begins with an open exhibit of 'Ink Art' at 3PM, followed by the 4PM panel discussion and a 5PM reception. The panel is free with museum admission. NYU Skirball Center Welcomes Hangzhou Yue Opera Company Tonight, Tomorrow

The all-female ensemble Hangzhou Yue Opera Company transforms two classic Ibsen plays into lyrical adventures with Hedda tonight, February 25 and tomorrow, Wednesday, The Lady from the Sea (February 26) at the second annual Visions + Voices Global Performance Series at NYU Skirball Center for the Performing Arts. This year's Visions + Voices will focus on China and will run from February 20-May 12, 2014.
