iTunes has released today the original off-Broadway cast recording of John Dempsey & Dana P. Rowe's production of Zombie Prom. Zombie Prom has music by Dana P. Rowe, book and lyrics by John Dempsey, based on a story by Dempsey and Hugh M. Murphy. Directed by Philip William McKinley, Orchestrations by Michael Gibson with musical direction by Darren R. Cohen.

Bucks County Playhouse (BCP) (Jed Bernstein, Producing Director) will present their July Cabaret Series and "Sing-a-Long-a Sound of Music" this weekend. Broadway and television actor Jason Kravits (Relatively Speaking, "The Practice") will host "Sing-a-Long-a Sound of Music", a little over one week after what would have been Oscar Hammerstein II's 117th birthday, tonight, July 22nd at 6:30 p.m. at the Bucks County Playhouse (70 South Main Street). The presentation will be preceded by a special outdoor BBQ Style dinner hosted by Hamilton's Grill Room beginning at 5:00 p.m.

Last night, July 2, was the Bucks County Playhouse re-opening and ribbon cutting ceremony, as well as the first performance of Rodgers & Hammerstein's A Grand Night for Singing. The first production of the Bucks County Playhouse (BCP) 2012 summer season, A Grand Night for Singing will run through Sunday, July 29th. The ribbon-cutting ceremony took place 73 years and a day after The Playhouse first opened in 1939. Special guests included Mayor Laurence Keller (New Hope), Chris Hart (son of Moss Hart), Pennsylvania Lieutenant Governor Cawley, Congressman Michael Fitzpatrick (U.S. Representative for Pennsylvania's 8th congressional district), and Will Hammerstein (Grandson of Oscar Hammerstein II). The Bucks County Playhouse (BCP) in New Hope, Pennsylvania, has announced the extension of its first production of the summer, Rodgers & Hammerstein's A Grand Night for Singing. Performances begin Monday, July 2 at 8:00 p.m. and will now run an additional week, through Sunday, July 29.

The Bucks County Playhouse (BCP) in New Hope, Pennsylvania, has announced the casting for its first production of the summer, Rodgers & Hammerstein's A Grand Night for Singing. The cast will feature a line-up of some of Broadway's most seasoned performers including Courtney Balan (Broadway: [title of show], Cry-Baby), Ron Bohmer (Broadway: Phantom of the Opera, Ragtime), Greg Bosworth (Atlanta: Xanadu, Clyde and Bonnie: A Folktale), Erin Davie (Broadway: A Little Night Music, Grey Gardens), and Kenita R. The opposites attracting plot is probably as old as romantic comedy itself, but even if Rooms: a rock romance follows familiar paths, the Paul Scott Goodman (book/music/lyrics) and Miriam Gordon (book) two-person musical is such a buoyant, funny and upbeat affair that the clichés of the story are conquered by the cleverness and exuberance with which the story is told. Under Scott Schwartz's swift and breezy direction, the 90-minute one-act scoots the audience along on an immensely enjoyable ride.

The Douglas J. Cohen musical THE GIG, was commercially released on CD on August 12 through Jay Records. On August 18 at 6:00pm, there was a CD launch at Barnes & Noble on West 66th Street. The cast was there to perform and sign CDs following a panel discussion with Frank Gilroy, Sheldon Harnick, Douglas J. Cohen and moderated by Peter Filichia.

Performances begin tonight for the East Coast premiere of THE VISIT at Signature Theatre (Eric Schaeffer, Artistic Director). THE VISIT is the final mainstage show in the theatre's Kander & Ebb Celebration, a four-month festival devoted to the works of John Kander & Fred Ebb, the longest song-writing partnership in the history of the American musical theater.

The Visit, which will star two-time Tony Award® winners Chita Rivera and George Hearn with Mark Jacoby, features music by John Kander, lyrics by Fred Ebb and book by Terrence McNally, based on the play by Friedrich Dürrenmatt, adapted by Maurice Valency. The production will be choreographed by Ann Reinking and directed by Frank Galati. The Visit will play from May 13 through June 22 in The MAX Theatre.
