Jean Doumanian Productions and Barrow Street Theatre(Scott Morfee and Tom Wirtshafter) today announced that they will produce director David Cromer's acclaimed staging of Thornton Wilder's Our Town at Off Broadway's Barrow Street Theatre. Performances will begin on February 17, with anofficial opening night set for Thursday, February 26. The production will require acomplete redesign of the theater space.

Film and theatre production company Jean Doumanian Productions (August: Osage County) will produce a musical based on Mitchell Zuckoff's acclaimed biography 'Ponzi's Scheme: The True Story of a Financial Legend.' Jean Doumanian Productions will be co-producing the musical with Michael Shulman and Craig Saavedra of Starry Night Entertainment. The two companies jointly acquired the rights to Zuckoff's book for both the stage and film.

Now that her already legendary run in Gypsy is over, Patti LuPone is set for a number of concert dates throughout the year, in addition to the previously announced dates with Mandy Patinkin for 'An Evening with Patti LuPone and Mandy Patinkin' she will make a concert stop in Las Vegas at the Orleans Casino & Hotel on June 20th and 21st. She can also be seen (and heard) at the Cincinnati May Festival in Kurt Weil's 'The Seven Deadly Sins', Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra. Entertainment Weekly is reporting that Patti LuPone has been cast on 30 Rock to play the mother 'of Judah Friedlander's... well, um, unique Frank'. There's no word on how many episodes LuPone will appear on of the hit show.

The original cast of the Goteborg Theatre in Sweden will offer two performances (in English) of the one-act play Remembering Miss Meitner by Robert Marc Friedman. Lise Meitner (1878 - 1968) was a woman physicist who discovered, in collaboration with Otto Hahn, nuclear fission in 1938, but was overlooked by the Nobel Prize Committee. Otto Hahn received an undivided prize in 1945 for the discovery. Because of her Jewish origin, Meitner fled Germany in July 1938 and settled in Sweden where she worked in the laboratory of Manne Siegbahn, despite the difficulty caused by Siegbahn's prejudice against women in science.

The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey announced its 2009 season of seven Main Stage productions and annual Outdoor Stage production today. There is one theatre in NYC where it's okay not to worry about dust. Actually, the name of the show is Dust, a new thriller starring Emmy Award nominee Richard Masur (Democracy, 'All My Children') and Tony Award nominee Hunter Foster (Urinetown, Little Shop of Horrors), which opens on Thursday, December 4th at 7:00PM at the Westside Theatre. The show is written by Billy Goda and directed by Scott Zigler with a cast that also features Laura E. Campbell, Curtis McClarin and John Schiappa.

Tony Award winning singer and actress Patti LuPone is featured on this week's Associated Press 'On Broadway' podcast. In this interview Jane Waldman reports on LuPone's new CD on Ghostlight Records, 'Patti PuPone at Les Mouches;' a live recording of the legend's 1980 nightclub act that she performed on Saturdays during her run in 'Evita.'
