The New 42nd Street held its first annual gala last night, November 18 at The New Victory Theater, honoring visionary entertainment leader Michael D. Eisner with the New Victory Arts Award for bringing kids to the arts and the arts to kids. Below, BroadwayWorld brings you photos from inside the special event!

Beauty and the Beast may have first appeared on Broadway almost 20 years ago, in 1994, but the show is alive and well. Newly re-imagined, the current US national touring company will be making its way to Durham for an engagement from October 8 - 13. In preparation for the show's arrival in the triangle, I had the honor of speaking with Matt West, the show's Tony-nominated choreographer, about the show's beginnings, its new life, and the message at its heart.

I've been writing for Houston's BroadwayWorld page for a brief 8 ½ months now, and one thing that I quickly learned and came to love about Houston is that there is always a wide selection of venues and titles to choose from. This past Saturday, I ventured from my residence in a Southeast suburb of the city to Playhouse 1960 for the very first time to see their production of I'M NOT RAPPAPORT. The aesthetically well-designed and beautiful performance space is nestled near FM 1960 and US 290, and the company provides audiences with a production of the Tony Award-winning comedy that leaves audiences with plenty to talk about it.

PRETTY TOUGH, based on the successful eponymous book by Liz Tigelaar, is set in the privileged and picturesque world of Malibu's elite high school and centers on Charlie and Krista Brown, two sisters at opposite ends of the popularity spectrum, who must learn to play together on the soccer field and in life. Vuguru, an independent studio founded by Michael Eisner that develops and finances award winning scripted content for digital and international platforms, and AOL today announced the US premiere of GREETINGS FROM HOME, a family comedy series from BermanBraun.

Deadline has revealed an exclusive trailer for Michael Eisner's Vuguru and BermanBraun new comedy web series GREETINGS FROM HOME that premieres on AOL on October 1. In 1966 the Hallmark Hall of Fame presented a television adaptation of Tom Jones and Harvey Schmidt's Off Broadway musical THE FANTASTICKS. Ricardo Montalban appeared as El Gallo and Bert Lahr and Stanley Holloway were the two fathers.
