BWW Reviews: Don't Miss Riverside's Crowd-pleasing MUSIC OF ANDREW LLOYD WEBBER

THE MUSIC OF ANDREW LLOYD WEBBER might be a show Riverside Center has to bring back again real soon. But your job is to get tickets to it now. Patrick A'Hearn has assembled a winning cast to showcase more than 30 songs from the great and near great Webber musicals. Fans of CATS, EVITA, and even STARLIGHT EXPRESS can revel in songs from these and a dozen other titles.

Happy Birthday Michael Crawford! In 1981, Crawford starred in the Original London production of Cy Coleman's Barnum (1981) as the illustrious American showman P. T. Barnum. He is best known for starring opposite Sarah Brightman in the original cast of Andrew Lloyd Webber's The Phantom of the Opera as the title character. In 1986, Crawford began his performance in London, continuing on to Broadway in 1988, and then Los Angeles a year later, in 1989. He played the role for 2½ years and over 1,300 performances, winning an Olivier Award (Best Actor in a Musical) and a Tony Award (Best Performance By An Actor in a Lead Role, Musical). Beginning in February 2011, Crawford has played the role of the Wizard in Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice's musical version of The Wizard of Oz at the London Palladium.

Anthony Rapp, Adam Pascal, Telly Leung & More Set for SEASONS OF BROADWAY at BB King's, 3/30

Featuring four of Broadway's brightest stars, "Seasons of Broadway" is an evening of hit songs and personal backstage anecdotes, celebrating the diversity of Broadway and the powerful impact it has had beyond the theater. The show will play a one-night special engagement at BB King's Blues Club and Grill in New York City on Monday, March 30 at 7:30 PM.

Mandy Gonzalez to Lead 1/26 Reading of SING ME HOME in L.A.

Members of the Los Angeles theater community are invited to a staged reading of Sing Me Home on January 26 at 8 pm (cocktails at 7 pm). This brand new, contemporary musical, with book by Amber Romina Cassell and music and lyrics by singer-songwriter Kristy Hanson features fourteen original songs in the pop-rock genre, with influences ranging from rhythm and blues to country.

Producers Cameron Mackintosh and The Really Useful Group announced today a new leading man for the Broadway production of Andrew Lloyd Webber'sTHE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA, directed by Harold Prince. The longest-running show in Broadway history, and one of the most successful stage productions of all-time, PHANTOM will welcome Broadway star James Barbour when he takes over the title role beginning Monday, February 9, 2015.
