A Sensible Theatre Co. will present The Sensible Cabaret - once a month, every month - aiming to elevate Queer & Allied artists here in New York City. August will feature the undeniably talented Diana Huey, as she shares her journey becoming the actor, activist, and human she is now.

On the eve of the Mostly Mozart Festival Orchestra's (MMFO) opening performances at the 2019 Mostly Mozart Festival, Ehrenkranz Artistic Director Jane Moss has announced that Lincoln Center has extended the contract of Renee and Robert Belfer Music Director Louis Langree through the summer of 2023. Langree has held the position since 2003, fostering the Festival Orchestra's profile as an established ensemble and steadfast presence on the Lincoln Center campus, furthering its scope of repertoire beyond music of the classical era, and heightening its reputation as one of America's premier chamber orchestras. Langree made his Mostly Mozart Festival debut in 1998 and began his tenure as music director in 2003. 2023 will be his twenty-first season in the role. American Express is the lead sponsor of the Mostly Mozart Festival.

THE CHAMBER MUSIC SOCIETY OF LINCOLN CENTER (CMS) returns to the historic resort town of Saratoga Springs in upstate New York on August 4 - 20, with a roster of internationally celebrated artists. CMS will be taking audiences at the Spa Little Theatre on a musical journey with six programs designed specifically for the Saratoga Performing Arts Center Residency of 23 works never before been performed by CMS at SPAC. In addition to performances by David Finckel and Wu Han, Co-Artistic Directors of CMS, in residency for all three weekends, audiences will experience the return of the Escher Quartet, plus debut appearances by four artists including Chinese violinist Angelo Xiang Yu, British flutist Adam Walker, Bulgarian violinist Bella Hristova and renowned American cellist Keith Robinson.

For the past several seasons, Stratford's Festival Theatre stage has been home to classic musical theatre productions with catchy tunes that audiences might find themselves humming long after the company had taken its final bow. This season, the musical living on that stage is a little different. It is not a classic from the golden age of broadway, the music, while moving, is likely not that familiar ear worm that you will wake up singing, and the story is as gritty and high stakes as many of the Shakespearean productions we have seen on that stage in recent years. BILLY ELLIOT officially opened to a raucous standing ovation on Tuesday evening, making it clear that Stratford audiences are more than happy to branch out to something a little different.

Arcola Theatre today announces the European premiere of Until The Flood, written and performed by Pulitzer Prize nominee Dael Orlandersmith. The production, directed by Neel Keller, will be the first by Arcola Theatre at the Edinburgh Festival. It opens at the Traverse Theatre on 2 August, with previews from 1 August, and runs until 24 August. It then transfers to Arcola Theatre, London, opening on 6 September, with previews from 4 September and running until 28 September.

The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS) today announced the winners of the 46th Annual Daytime Creative Arts Emmy Awards. The gala was held at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium in Pasadena, Southern California.

Center Theatre Group Artistic Director Michael Ritchie has set the 2019 - 2020 seasons at both the Mark Taper Forum and Kirk Douglas Theatre. FOR COLORED BOYZ first hit the Houston Theatre scene 4 years ago during the workshop phase. ! On February 21, 2015 a workshop was presented in Galveston at Old Central sponsored by The Nia Cultural Center then following the next year Kevin Anderson and the T.R.U.T.H. produced the 2nd phase of the script workshop. After two script workshops and staged readings Wilson and his creative team are ready to release this theatrical gem to the theatre community.

One of Leonard Bernstein's most iconic compositions will be paired with the legendary Ludwig van Beethoven's most celebrated work in "Bernstein and Beethoven: Part I" on Saturday, May 11, 2019 at 8 p.m. at The Music Center at Strathmore. As a continued celebration of the Leonard Bernstein Centennial, world-renowned pianist Michael Brown will join Philharmonic Music Director and Conductor Piotr Gajewski and the National Philharmonic in performing Bernstein's Symphony No. 2 ("The Age of Anxiety"), a genre-defying work that combines elements of symphony, concerto, and program music and is inspired by the dramatic poem The Age of Anxiety by W.H. Auden. After an intermission, Gajewski will lead the Philharmonic in Beethoven's Symphony No. 5 in C minor, Op. 67. This timeless work is one of the most performed, recorded, adapted, and abused of all the works in Beethoven's canonical repertoire. A pre-concert lecture will take place between 6:45-7:15 p.m. From 7-7:30 p.m., families can explore orchestral instruments with Philharmonic musicians. The concert will feature a members-only encore question-and-answer. Ticket prices are $42-$78, and young people 7-17 are free. Strathmore is located at 5301 Tuckerman Lane, North Bethesda. Baruch Performing Arts Center, along with New York-based theater company Blessed Unrest and Teatri ODA of Kosovo, will co-present the World Premiere of Refuge from April 25 - May 11 @ 7:30, with a variable weekly schedule and a 5pm performance Sun May 5 (Opening Night April 27) at Baruch Performing Arts Center, 55 Lexington Avenue (25 Street between Third and Lexington Avenues), NYC.

The Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center begins the month of May with Deeply Inspired—a program of pieces by composers from four eras and four cultures—featuring baritone Yunpeng Wang, pianist Michael Brown, violinists Kristin Lee and Danbi Um, violist Matthew Lipman, and cellists Nicholas Canellakis and David Finckel (May 3). Spring highlights include the world premiere of Mark-Anthony Turnage's Massarosa for Bassoon, Two Violins, Viola, and Cello with bassoonist Peter Kolkay and the Calidore Quartet(May 16); and the New York premiere of Andrew Norman's Escher for String Quartet performed by the Escher String Quartet (May 7). Both works are CMS co-commissions.

Artistic Director Chris Coleman has announced the 41st season of the DCPA Theatre Company, the producing regional theatre arm of the Denver Center for the Performing Arts (DCPA). The new season kicks off performances on August 30 and will feature eight productions including two world premieres from the 2019 Colorado New Play Summit and - for the first time in repertory - A Doll's House and A Doll's House, Part 2.
