11th Hour Theatre Company kicks off its 12th season with its Next Step Concert Series and a performance of the hilarious musical Urinetown. With Music and Lyrics by Mark Hollmann and Book and Lyrics by Greg Kotis, this concert reading of this popular musical will run October 21-23 at The Arden's Studio Theatre at the Hamilton Family Arts Center. 62 N. This hour-long musical adaptation of Charles Dickens' classic novel has quickly become a Philadelphia tradition. The magic returns November 28th and runs through December 20th on Walnut Street Theatre's Mainstage.

Producer Matt Murphy announced that his family musical The Berenstain Bears LIVE! has recouped its initial investment following its 2nd Anniversary Off-Broadway in New York City. Having entertained nearly 20,000 boys, girls, parents, and grandparents, the musical's official second year anniversary performance featured a celebration on the Bear Country stage with Murphy and the cast. Murphy thanked the cast and creative team for their contributions over the past two years and added, "I am thrilled that the greater New York area has embraced our show and allowed us to continue on a weekend schedule that caters to families. Time and time again, we hear from parents who are so happy to have introduced their children to the wonderful world of theatre with characters they know and love from The Berenstain Bears books. As long as New Yorkers will have us, we will keep bringing the vibrant and colorful world of Bear Country that Stan and Jan Berenstain created more than 50 years ago to life through song and dance Off-Broadway."

Families across the Delaware Valley have made Walnut Street Theatre for Kids' production of Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol a Philadelphia tradition. One year ago, the Berenstain Bears arrived Off-Broadway with their critically-acclaimed family musical The Berenstain Bears LIVE! Having entertained over 10,000 boys, girls, parents, and grandparents, June 25th marks the musical's official one year anniversary of performing every Saturday and Sunday in NYC.

This weekend the family musical, now in an open-ended run, will pay tribute to the late co-creator of The Berenstain Bears, Jan Berenstain, who passed away last Friday.

According to The Associated Press, Jan Berenstain, who with her husband Stan created the Berenstain Bears, has passed away following a stroke. She was 88 years old.

New York: The critically-acclaimed family musical, now in an open-ended run, will offer special holiday performances featuring an interactive sing-a-long after each performance of the Bear Country favorite, "Jingle Bears!" Now performing at the Marjorie S. Dean Little Theatre (10 West 64th Street), the Special Holiday schedule will include the usual post-show activities including dancing, face-painting, and photos with the Bears will still take place alongside the holiday sing-along.

Unlike most bears, The Berenstain Bears LIVE! will not be hibernating this winter, the critically-acclaimed family musical will extend for a third time since it came to New York in June 2011. This open-ended extension will be celebrated in a new, more convenient location at the Upper West Sides' Marjorie S. Dean Little Theatre (5 West 63rd Street), steps from Central Park, beginning on November 5, 2011. The Berenstain Bears LIVE! will continue to play at MMAC through October 30.
