Tony Award-winning actor Jason Alexander recently assumed the role of 'Norman Drexel' in Larry David's hit comedy Fish In the Dark, directed by Anna D. Shapiro, at the Cort Theatre (138 West 48th Street). Alexander steps into the role created by David in the comedy about a death in the family. The limited engagement run of the production, originally scheduled through June 7, is extended for six weeks through Saturday, August 1 at the Cort Theatre (138 West 48 Street). Kicking off the landmark season is John Steinbeck's East of Eden, a world premiere adaptation by Frank Galati. Steppenwolf's deep connection with the Pulitzer Prize-winning author can be traced back to the company's 1988 production of The Grapes of Wrath, which Galati adapted and directed. Last night, actress Rita Wilson made her triumphant return to the hit Broadway comedy Fish In the Dark, following a one month of medical leave. In April, the actress revealed the news that she had been diagnosed with breast cancer and had undergone a double mastectomy and reconstructive surgery. Now that she's cancer-free and back onstage, Wilson told the Times, 'It felt surreal in the sense that all these changes had happened, and yet it felt like it was yesterday.'
